Good call on Audition.
Spud, I stopped reading yours pretty quick. I can understand your not liking certain films (I mean, you were a teen when a they came out), but I don't get you calling Army of Darkness, Twin Peaks, Gremlins 2, or Delicatessan horror movies...

Because they are, perhaps? :? ;)

Forgot about Cemetery Man... that's an excellent film. When they will put out a competant dvd of it is beyond me though.

Dellamorte Dellamore is a great movie indeed.

About some of the others: I think the first Scream is quite OK, not because it is scary or anything, but because it is spoofing journalism. Scream 2 and 3 are not worth mentioning in any list (maybe in the list of Movies That Shouldn't Have Been Made  ) and I think it's mostly because of these two that people dislike Scream.

Audition, like Ringu, played an important role in resurrecting horror.

Blair Witch, damn, I remember having payed to see that. Says a lot about how meager the 90s were in terms of cinema relesaes in my country.

Vampires (I take it you mean John Carpenter's Vampires) was one of those movies in which I though, "damn John you WERE so good!"

Some movies I found in my collection that are from the 90s and not mentioned before:

Nightmare Concert
Subspecies
The Boneyard (I'm having this one on my release list)
The Burning Moon
Leif Jonker's Darkness
Bio Zombie
Strangeland

And some films I quite enjoyed, but aren't really good:

Vampirella
Hideous!
Killer Barbys
