It took me about 100 years (or 4 months) after downloading it from Dead-Donkey but I finally watched Evil Dead. I have to say, the special effects and makeup was GREAT, IMO, especially at the end. At one point it looked like yellow grits was coming out of that one corpse lol! :eatthis:

Congratulations on finally watching Evil Dead. You should watch Night of the living Dead next. And maybe Alien, Hellraiser, Friday the 13th, Halloween, *insert classic*, and then you can watch The Thing. Or should we start waaaaay back with Dracula, Frankenstein, Nosferatu.

No but really you found HHAH before watching Evil Dead? WOW thats like legendary... you kids today with technology preceding culture brains, and hip retro-fashions.

No but really really this time, whats, IYO, the best horror films you seen?

Yeah... But an Ash tattoo? Think that´s wise? I got some skulls inked in the time I had no brain, and now I cry when I see them. My advice is: Think before you ink!

We could turn this into a "Where were you when you first watched Evil Dead"-thread

I was in the student's dorm when one of my housemates told me about Evil Dead and later that night we watched parts 1 and 2.

Or:

I was in the students association's filmroom and was watching classic horrorflicks shown by another horrorfan. We watched Night of the Living Dead that night and Evil Dead part 1.

I'm not sure which one came first, but they both were around 12 years ago.

It was at least 10 years ago, I'd have been at high school so I'm guessing around 13.

I had it on VHS so i'd obviously seen its cover (it was the bright coloured one)... i think it was part of a range of videos.

I'd got into horror and was actively taping stuff off of bravo, etc.

The only one of those I haven't seen Callus is The Fog :P

My favorite horror movies:

Night Of The Living Dead
The Exorcist
The Amityville Horror (FIRST one, ONLY!)

Trivia: The music used in Amityville Horror was going to be used in The Exorcist (I think it would've been better if it had been) instead of "Tubular Bells", but they thought it woujld be "too scary". Isn't that the POINT?

I first watched it about 2 or 3 years ago with my brother. He somehow heard of it and downloaded the movie with the mule. :beerchug:

Around 88 sometime I dropped about 9 hits of acid and popped this in without even having a clue as to what was coming up....My buddy had a total religious trip out of the whole ordeal and ended up praying at my feet thinking we were all demon possessed :jesus: ......yeah.....it was a very fun night indeed

Damn, and to think all I got from acid was patterns on the wall.

First time I saw Evil Dead, let me see. Oh yes, I was pretty young, around 10, my mum got a copy off some geyser in a video van or something, I watched it the next morning before they got up.

Top of a kitchen cupboard is no match for SpiderAnt, the video was soon mine.

It was fucking sweet.

And I don't mean I licked the video either

I'm pretty sure it was around 1987 when I first watched it. Just another horror video rental at the time, but I was impressed. Scariest thing was how much it looked like the woods around where I grew up. Some of the filming was done only 1-2 hours away. :zombiemoan:

I think I was about 13. Which would have been, depressingly, 20 or so years ago.

I seem to recall it was banned in the (sweeping, idiotic, reactionary, Daily Fucking Mail/Sun, clueless and ulimately innefective) Video Nasties act.

However my pal and I found a copy of dubious origin in our local video shop (Waaaay before Scumbuster took hold in this country) and got his dad to rent it for us.

Brilliant.

Never cared for the sequels though.

Funny thing is I didn't mention 'The Fog' That is thje worst Carpenter movie BTW, you can never watch and die a happy horror fan. I said 'The Thing' by Carpenter that is phenomenal!!! Definitely watch it.

I like Amityville Part 2 The Possesion much better than the first one. Its tense, gory, exploitive, and overall fun with an unhappy ending!

BTW, though the composer of the original Amityville Horror was set to do the Exorcist score, he was an asshole and a nightmare to work with, and then when the director/producers heard the score he wrote it was "awful"... so they got some guy named Steve Boedekker to do it, and its the only score he ever wrote for film! And it is real good IMO. Most of the Exorcist's atmosphere comes from the sound designer's work, Robert Fine (imdb fucks up this crediting) who also did Holy Mountain, which is why Friedkin wanted him.
