This year we get the new Coffin Joe's movie, "Devil's Reincarnation" (A Encanação do Demônio). He is a kind of horror icon here in Brazil and the media seems to think (and show) him as a world horror master.

The movie is the third in the trilogy At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul (1964) / This Night I Will Possess Your Corpse (1967) / Devil's Reincarnation (2008). After 30 years in a mental institute, Coffin Joe is free again - always searching for the perfect mother to his child.

Do you guys know him and/or his movies? Already watched the new movie in some festival?

The name rings a distant bell, but I'm amazed at the time which passed by between the second and the third installment of this trilogy!

Well, the extra-movies history is interisting. Between 1968 (but starting in 1964) and 1986 Brazil was in a very closed militar ditactorship. Coffin Joe suffered in this period, too much censoship, no money, almost in jail. Between 1986 and 1994 Brazil was in a troubled economic period - no money for nothing. From 1994 until now we somewhat "recovering our memories" and Coffin Joe had the chance to finish his trilogy.

Somewhat like that - my written english still very poor :(

Don't worry mate, your English is understandable and thus good enough. Interesting story indeed. In Europe we don't learn much about Latin American history, so this dictatorship was unknown to me.

Marins rulez! he was quite a figure back then, remember reading something a bout show he made in Cannes in the '70. "At Midnight..." is a must for every horror buff.
