Hey, for some strange reason I always enjoy movies that set against 'extreme weather conditions'. For example, Hard Rain... not particularly a great film but for some reason I like it. Dreamcatcher... stupid a hell movie, but again... I like it... after a while I realised its the backdrop.

So, here's where I'm asking for any all movies that have extreme weather as a plot trait. Doesn't necessarily have to be horror, but horror is always good too :)

Backdrop of exteme weather
30 Days of Night
El Alamein
Alive
Ba'al
Dreamcatcher
The Fog
Frozen
Ghostkeeper
Hard Rain
The Illustrated Man
The Last Winter
The Mist
The Perfect Storm
Pitch Black
The Shining
Stalingrad
Storm of the Century
The Thing
X-Files: I want to Believe
Yeti - Curse of the Snow Demon

Shit hollywood end of the world crappiness I didn't really want listed in the thread but actually fits the description
2012
Dante's Peak
The Day After Tomorrow
Twister
Volcano

Leaving off because they just don't seem to fit at all... either because its not a major part, its not 'weather' or its none of the above
Cliff Hanger
Flight of the Phoenix
Screamers (its just an alien planet and not so harsh, i won't include dune either, even though its kinda similar)
Stargate (huh?)
Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home
Sunshine (okay so they are heading to the sun, but its run of the mill scifi)
Vertical Limit

Being at see doesn't count, so titanic, etc don't fit either.

30 Days of Night
The Thing
Alive
Yeti - curse of the snow Demon
Stalingrad
El Alamein - in the line of Fire

All are extreme snow conditions, except for the last one, which is in the desert.

I think I like these movies for the same reason I like movies set in caves, underground facilities, under water, or space. It provides a nice sense of claustrophobia or no escape.

The Illustrated Man - One of the stories in this movie is set almost totally in horrendous, torrential rain. It's the part of the film (and book) that sticks in my mind.
