I just watched The Last Broadcast and while it was probably the most low budget thing I've ever seen, and was pretty poorly edited imo, I kinda enjoyed it. I definitely am a fan of this "found footage" type of movie. They all have pretty much the exact same ending, and you know that going into it, but I guess I do like to see how the characters manage to fuck up enough to get into that situation.

I've seen Blair Witch, Cloverfield, Quarantine (although not REC yet), Paranormal Activity, The Last Exorcism, and I just finally watched Cannibal Holocaust. I'm currently looking for The Last Horror Movie and I'm planning to check out Home Movie. Are there any other good ones I should look out for?

Haven't seen it, and it's not a horror, but Exhibit A is supposed to be worth a look:

Ironically enough, "found footage" films often seem somewhat hard to find copies of. Here's some that might be worth seeking out:

I've read a lot of people celebrating The Poughkeepsie Tapes, but haven't bothered with it myself.

While you're at it, you might also want to check out the August Underground trilogy, but I thought that was boring as hell.

Snuff 102 is supposed to be ok, but I haven't watched that either.

S&Man also created a bit of a buzz a few years ago, but I could never find a copy of it.

Troll Hunter was mildly entertaining, but a bit disappointing (even thought I know one of the lead actors personally) and probably wont make much sense to people outside of Norway.

It you're willing to venture out of the horror genre however, you should definitely check out Forgotten Silver by Peter Jackson. Great fun.

If anyone's interested, prompted by my own comment, the wife and I watched Exhibit A the other night. I've spent most of my 35 years on this planet watching horror films of varying 'severity' and even I managed to feel disturbed by this film. Doesn't go anywhere you don't expect it to, but it's done with a (increasingly) believable naturalism that results in some truly disturbing scenes.

Or maybe I was just being a mincing puff that night. Dunno.

90% of it is like Mike Leigh film, the collapse of a disfunctional family etc, and as I said, it's not a horror flick but when the inevitable bloodshed happens, it has a realism that I found very harsh.

On a more general and relevant note, this list ain't a bad starting point:

The link isn't working properly (you forgot to include the ) in the link): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Found_footage_%28genre%29

The list contains a lot of stuff which I dislike. But I also saw that REC gets a part 3 and 4. Let's hope they don't f*ck it up.

Just heard about Apollo 18, which is going the found-footage route:
