Windwaker is sure to take some of the awards, it has at all the other organised rabbles. Have to say that I'd give it best console and best game. Prince of Persia was nice, although it was very samey. Star Wars has a lot of fans but the pc version was unplayable for me and i just can't get into the xbox version. Seemed to be getting a lot of praise it didn't deserve. Best racer will go to project gotham, but i'm an arcade racer guy of guy, so i'd give it to Mario Kart. Soul Calibur 2 is sure bet for beat em up, loved that button smashing :)

Everything else wasn't really that impressive last year. Lets hope it fairs better next/this year.

I'd like to check out true crime when it hits PC,just so I can make ole Snoop Dog dance like he does in the commercial...I am hoping the gameplay will be a comprehensive and not be a complete waste like so many console to PC games or vice verca.

Bought the game for the XBOX, what a waste of money  I bought the game blindless. Saw some glimps of the game in mags and looked like GTA and I thought I'll try it .. D'oh!

If you're into rap, fine. But I hate rap and that's about all the "music" you'll hear in this game. Then the driving it feels wrong not smooth like in GTA and the city is plain and boring..

A GTA clone gone wrong

Well, not into rap but generally you have the option to turn the music off,It does look like a GTA clone with fighting sequences and have already heard about the lame controls for the consoles,I never really liked GTA's controls either for console and ended up trading it in for the Getaway which was a bit more playable,GTA for PC though I used to play all day

Word on the street the new GTA ( due oct) STILL won't be online, that they're ($ony) saving that for ps3....

@ dude51 clean that shit out of your ears, True crime most certainly has rock/grunge shit in it....not such a rap fan myself but I'd take that than some grunge dick whining during a tricky beat-em up section.....I played the final showdown without music !

and oh dear.....can we all agree it's been a crap year for ALL consoles ?

I think so...

C&C Generals : Played it night and day, didn?t like the add-on too much (zero hour) - cause i simply was too bad online :(

Call of duty : At last some fresh wind in the shootergenre, for me as some diehardfan of ?band of brothers? very welcomed, at this point can?t wait for operation flashpoint 2 though! :matrix: :matrix:

Sands of time: Just super. Although it serves itself from almost every other good game of this genre - the mixture worked. A lot of fun!

Max Payne II: Just the same as part I but very enjoyable!

Knight of the old Republic: What wasn?t playable about this one spud? Didn?t finish it though - became boring to me after some time, but those RPGs aren?t my kind of games anyway...

Yeah Windwaker - never played it - Played Ocarina Of Time some years ago - and thought it would be the best game ever, so, have to check out Windwaker when the Gamecube is cheap enough for me :D

So my overall game o the year would be C&C Generals.

Cheers,
General Gorehound (Chinas last hope)

...you know viewing the pc lineup it hasn't been a great year for that either....

What a crap year it has been...

It was the year that made me buy two extra consoles and some old classics on those just to get thru it, and these very months.....

I mean, what eath shocker is due for release this first quarter eh ?

KOTOR all the way. yeah, the interface was console-like, but intuitive nevertheless. great storyline and for once it didn?t feel like a tacked-add-on to the Star Wars movies but a story happening just in the same universe. Bioware are the best period. for anyone over 13 years that is, the rest has nintendo, i guess.

Best game, Zelda will win, simply because it always does and it certainly does deserve to this year. Windwaker, although still not as good as Link to the Past on the snes, had a great interface, control, graphics and although I have criticisms on too much sailing at times it was still the best game I played last year. It's won all the multi-console awards and those from the game magazines. I'm a zelda fan you see too  I have four vitrual desktops and they all have zelda backgrounds atm :) Only reason I bought a Gamecube... hell only reason I bought an N64.

@emo, not my kind of game at all. Downloaded and tried it, but I hated it (didn't even play for more than 15mins). I don't like menu driven games on a best day, not unless its well created. I used to play them on the snes, but can't get into them thesedays. I'm a huge star wars fan though, but even that didn't help. Prefered Jedi Academy.

Great game. However, far too short, and a hightech clone of Medal of Honour. scripting was great, and the levels were enjoyable. Some were a bit boring, but the Stalingrad was top class. Up against tron and battlefield it will win though
