This was passed a few years ago. SS Experiment Camp is like the Benny Hill version of Men Behind The Sun but with Nazis. Tasteless fun.

I'd be interested to know what 5 live said about it. The Sunday Express ran a front page article claiming that this should be banned, along with Cannibal Holocaust, I Spit on Your Grave and Faces of Death, failing to point out that SS Experiment Camp is the only one of those released anywhere near uncut in this country.

The BBFC spoke sense about this one, claiming it is in bad taste but that is no reason to keep it banned.

I was surprised because at one time it was allegedly 8th on the nasties list. I once came across a so-called top 10 nasties but that's probably just tabloid talk.

The uncut version has been available here hasn't it or is this a new more uncut version than the one OffColour ripped? You guys in the UK got the most fucked up censorship laws...at least this place you guys can actually grab an uncut copy of whatever :)

I will give the BBFC some credit here as they are improving. Here is the actual BBFC quote;

"The content of the film is in fact very mild and poorly executed. If anything, it was the title of the film and its original packaging that led to difficulties, rather than the content. The idea of the film may, of course, be offensive to some but that is not a good enough reason to cut or reject it. We would only cut or reject a film for adults if the content was illegal or harmful. SS Experiment Camp is neither illegal or harmful, just tasteless."

Just tasteless. Like the BBFC itself.

But, I agree with Avanze, they are improving. Still I think the UK sucks when it comes to censorship.

Never before has a film sounded so instantly appealing to me.

Do you have a URL to that top 10 list? And I've tried downloading SS Exp. Camp but the hosts never wanted to let it download on me *cries*. Still, I've love to see that list. It would be a good reference :-)

I never actually saw a list, a friend told me it was in one of the papers. We're going back a good few years but IIRC it was

1. Cannibal Holocaust
2. I Spit On Your Grave
3. Nightmares In A Damaged Brain
4. Last House On The Left
5. Snuff
6. The Driller Killer
7. SS Experiment Camp (this may have been 8)
8. ?
9. Cannibal Ferox
10. The Beast In Heat
