I went there. And it was GOOD!

Unlike other major tourist attractions in the Australian nature (read as ULURU) where thousands and thousands of people come every day, as Wolfe Creek is somewhat more difficult to get to, it is very little visited. In fact, when we were there, we had the entire crater to ourselves, and the next person was some 150km away! The movie is somewhat imfamous in backpacker sircuts here in Australia, and alot of people actually believe it's all true, just the way it's portrayed in the movie. Therefore I've yet to meet any other person who has gone there. Even locals in the closest town (Halls Creek, a place full of savage aboriginals much more likely to kill you than some outback psycho) don't go out to the crater.

They say that you can stille sense the magnetic forces active in the crater after the impact 300.000 years ago, and whether it was placebo or not really doesn't matter. It was an amazing experience. (I'm sure that the acid we took had very little to do with that. )

Anyway, the others chickened out for some reason, but I slept in the very middle, all by myself and experienced some strange astral projection or something... really cool.

as mentioned above..old forum thread...but cant hurt to complain...not really a fan of this movie either, has its moments as did high tension, but overall...something with this new generation of movies is lacking :eatthis: ...nothing can beat the classics!

Yeah the movie had a lot of rehash that's for sure.

I just saw a documentary on the backpack murders a few days
ago. That was pretty fascinating. Usually, serial killers stick to one
type of killing, but this guy was all over the place using his victims
sometimes as target practice and other times close-range knifing/
beheading.

Anyhoo... I agree that something is lacking in modern horror lately
and that mainly is the ability to build tension. Too much emphasis on
gore and special effects I think. The worst terrors come from within the
mind... :zombie:

Sure it's lacking in a original story line but hey who cares.
It's just you're average slasher, nothing big budget and utterly fancy

but............

It entertains !! :beerchug:
