Thought some of you might be interested in this with the recent hype around the american remake. But this is the original and best.

Incidently I've also got http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098782/ on dvd if anybody's interested.

remote linking to IMDB doesn't work and isn't favourable (they change it around too often), so i moved the image to http://members.lycos.co.uk/hhahfiles/

Never actually seen this, but will take a look :)

I just finished watching the final ep and WOAH! This is the most amazing drug-"movie" I've ever seen. Gone is all the glory, romantism and beautifull people. This show depicts the heroin buisiness as a dirty, disgusting ordeal, but it does not moralise nor attempt at cheap "fright-tactics". If it's got one message it is this: The situation is not as easy as you might want it to be and there's no simple solution!

So thorough in it's investigation that the only thing holding it back from crossing over to a real documentary is a commentary voice-over. Every aspect is presented, from the harvesters, manufacturers, traffikers, dealers and ultimatly end users. Also ofcource are the people who tries to stop the whole thing, from the undercover police officers to the minister against drug use. In the first half the show is quite technical and overlooks no detail but towards the end it moves on to the more ethnical facet.

Even though this is a very grim tale you cannot help but feel pity for the lower people in the industry who just tries in every which way they can to stay alive. And I think even the butchest of the butch will have a hard time not being moved as the show draws to a climactic conclution.

If you want to see something to learn more aboot this issue, there's nowhere else to look.
