Someone called this the best horror movie of 2003 and with good reason. This one is really tough to sit through and will leave your head spinning. In short it's aboot pedophilia, so if you don't think you can handle it, stay away. Although there are no graphic or detailed descriptions, the emotional impact is so immense that it made me feel so sick I gave out several loud 'phew's' and 'oh, my' during it's run.

Rather unique is it that the filmmaker really does his best to present an objective case (unlike Michael Moore) and forces the viewer to really think before blantly choosing what to believe.

Highly recomended viewing.

PS: I do realise this is extremeley controversial material and if anyone objects to this post I wont argue aboot it's deletion.

What's wrong with Michael Moore?
Never saw such much objective reporting
and investigative journalism since the
late 60's, IMHO. An excellent documentarist
he is! No?

There is one other great documentary,
"Brother's Keeper", unfortunately we'll
not find that one on e-mule...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103888/

Btw, that Joe Berlinger directed also Blair
Witch2. One can't believe that a man
which was able to make such a documentary
would sink that low. Hopefully he'll give
away directing pure entertainment movies, or
similar crap, and rather return to topics he
prooved already to be excellent at.

While I agree alot aboot most of Moore's view's and points, I disagree with alot of his tactics. The fact that Bowling for Columbine was as fake as have later come out and if you watched 'the awefull truth' you'll see him sometimes get so caught up in harassing people he forget's why he's doing it.

Individuals which like to pull
bogeys out of their interview
partner noses...have my deepest
respect. Yes, true, he is at
times a bit pushy, but that's
a very sympathic trait of his
character, imo. Hey, at least
he's not really violent, not with
his money, not with his power, not
with his knowledge and not with
guns. His documentaries &
books are full of sick comedy,
he's just the one which asks
questions, the others act and
demask themselve as that what
they really are - clowns..
actually nobody should ever have
had fear of. And in regard to
methods; he beats them all with
their own invented procedures
and layed out traps! Mr. Moore and
simmilar guys accept nearly all
and everything, really. Except one
cardinal & crucial thing. They start
quickly to use their intellectual
abilities against those which think
they could drive people thristy
over lakes full of fresh water.

Hey, 'Titicut Foolies' was once
considered to be a unbeleavable
fake, too. But since I never had
the opportunity to see 'The Awfull
Truth' documentary I don't know
if I should now agree with you,
or not, or simply remain neutral..
...in that particular question.

Stromjunkie: I really didn't want to go into this, but I guess I owe some clarifying. 'The Aweful Truth' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0190171/ was a TV show by Micheal Moore in which he basically does the same as in 'Bowling...', only he does it to lots of different coorporations for many different reasons. In the beginning it was quite captivating and shocking to see what he uncovered, but as it went by he got more and more caught up in making an entertaining TV-show and forgot aboot his causes. You'll see him harass people all over and I think most pople will agree that he goes too far. Alot of the times it appeared as there wasn't really any problem untill he created one and goes off on another one-man crusade. He often harass people that have nothing to do with what he's supposed to be remidying and it appears he really gets off on it, in a somewhat perverse sadistic fashion. The first season was released on ShareReactor at the same time 'Bowling...' came out, do a mule-search and you'll find'em.

What I meant when I said that I disaprove of michael moore's methods ia that he has edited so many scenes to give them new meaning and also give out wrong facts to make his point more convincing. As I said I do agree with alot of what he stands for but lying to get people to support you is not the way to do it.
Here are a few places to check out:

http://www.hardylaw.net/Truth_About_Bowling.html - very thorough investigation of the film. Notice how sources are always quoted
http://www.mooreexposed.com/ - aboot Moore in general
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0%2C2933%2C48562%2C00.html - some amusing facts aboot Moore.

Quote:
"Michael Moore, the creator and star of the film Roger & Me, which detailed how Moore hounded the chairman of General Motors, himself does not like to be hounded. Yes, Moore, who is known for standing outside businesses with a megaphone to help get his point across, recently felt threatened by a downsized former employee of his television show, The Awful Truth.

"Alan Edelstein, a producer of the show since 1998, was let go after seven weeks on the job. He later decided that stalking Moore with a bullhorn and a camera would perhaps uncover any underlying reasons for Edelstein's termination ? Moore responded to Edelstein by calling the New York City police."
