The first documentary on Jos? Mojica Marins's (the legendary Z? do Caix?o or Coffin Joe) life and work. The film tells Mojica's history, from his poor childhood in Vila Anast?cio, S?o Paulo (Brazil), until his success abroad in the '90s.

Mojica Marins ? perhaps better known by his alter ego and most famous cinematic invention, Coffin Joe ? is now the subject of a feature documentary, Coffin Joe: The Strange World of Jose Mojica Marins, which premiered at the recent Sundance Film Festival. First-time directors Andr? Barcinscki and Ivan Finotti ? who in 1998 co-authored The Damned, a biography of Mojica Marins ? delve beneath the surface of Marins?s blood-and-sex-filled films to shed light on the the man behind the trademark top hat, black cape, and fantastically long fingernails.

This one is pretty damned amusing watching this guy with fingernails so long it would make Klaus Kinski blush in jealousy. How he is able to direct is always something I have wondered.Probably through intence intimidation threatening to hold one of those claws under your nose...imagine the crud that gets up there?Blaaagghh
