Superb surreal horror-fantasy with a twist of the absurd! Great cinematography, innovating camera-angles, excellent zombie make-up & animatronic effects by Sergio Stivaletti (much more styled after Tom Savini's work for Romero's "Day Of The Dead" instead of the 'dusty Itailan-style zombie' we're used to), juicy black humor, a gorgeous-looking (pretty naked) Anna Falchi, original ways to kill off zombies... and a conclusion that is just... "Jah!".

Why? It's original spoken Italian? No? The audio track is Italian too if I look right. No dubbing...

The spoken language is English.

you mean this is incorrect then?

Or is imdb incorrect in saying it's spoken Italian?

Ahhh... good point. Only max_cady (or someone that's downloaded it) can answer that one, but either way, the imdb is wrong - The original spoken language is English.

The encode comes with the Italian audio as stated in the NFO. The film was shot in English, but it was dubbed in post-production (even the English audio). I dunno about the quality of the English dub of the Bluray (the reviews refer to the DVDs), but I can upload it if there is interest.

Quote:
I would recommend watching this film in Italian with English subtitles. In keeping with the work of Argento, Soavi chose to shoot the film in English and to post-dub it. Even Rupert Everett, Mickey Knox and Clive Riche, all native English speakers, are dubbed, although Everett at least has provided his own voice. Still, the English dub is overall quite poor, with a number of the actors, particularly Anna Falchi, being given extremely weak voices. The Italian dub, in contrast, is absolutely superb, and does an admirable job of making itself appear legitimate despite not synchronizing with the actors' lip movements. Although this is only a stereo mix, it feels like something much more expansive, with strong channel separation and an adequate amount of bass. The dialogue is always very crisp, and the sound effects are well mixed. Overall, a great audio track to complement the video.

On the sound side, we are back in Argento country. Soavi, like his important mentor, made this movie in English, for a mostly English-speaking audience. Sure, there are Italians interspersed amongst the cast, but a dub into his native language was merely a necessity of homeland distribution.

Ah, right :beerchug:

I've never looked into the audio side of it properly because I recognised Rupert Everett's voice and just assumed the dialogue was all 'natural'... though of course with it being an Italian production I guess I shoulda known better! lol.
