AFTERMATH:

A woman dies tragically in an automobile accident but the true horror awaits her after death. What happens to the body after the spirit has moved on and the corpse is at the mercy of those who manhandle the dead? What manner of creature is it that tears our bodies apart only to put them back together again? Whether we like it or not, we are all at the mercy of the coroners knife and the abuse and indignities we suffer are strictly up to him.
Nacho Cerda's vision of horror after death culminates in a viscous, unrelenting showcase of true terror that has disturbed and repulsed viewers worldwide.

GENESIS

A sculptor is traumatized by the death of his wife in a car accident. He builds a sculpture in her memory. As the lifelike sculpture begins to bleed through the cracks of clay, the sculptor's flesh mutates and crumbles away...

LOL, not nosey, just interested. There's lots of retailers that send out discs before the release dates, always good to know who you can get an advantage with. ;)

But a mate in the industry is even better. ;)

Looks great, but I'm gonna get the DVD. Aftermath is a true sicky, so I hope genesis and awakening live up to it. I've just collected too many other versions not to plop down the cash for the DVD. And in regards to that problem of ripping genesis; it seems a few unearthed dvds have similiar issues (2 of the guinea pig discs wont rip for me either) *shrug*.

Check out the bitrate and resolution differences on the 2 files - ferox's blows the iMBT rip out of the water if you go on specs alone. What's odd too is that they encoded Aftermath in AC3 and Genesis in VBR/MP3 - why? I'm not bashing the iMBT rip (at least not intentionally) so sorry if it sounds that way.

Just thought I'd point it out in case anyone overlooked the specs in an excited storm of saliva at the mention of it being avaliable on ed2k and clicked in haste.

No, they don't ace I'm afraid, think about it, those specs for ferox are extremely misleading. Now I'm not knocking ferox or anything but this seems to have been completely ignored:

ferox hasn't cropped at all (this means that loads of bitrate has been wasted encoding nothing!!!!), its 700mb for a 30min movie. That's a tad overkill in my opinion, well actually major overkill (or would be if it was cropped and resized properally, but the lack of cropping means lots of wastage.) ;)

I think you misunderstand bitrate allocation also, like for the over 2000kb/s rip, about 1000kb/s is wasted on the black boarder on feroxs so the specs are totally useless in determining the quality of a rip that isn't totally cropped. The resolution is really too high as well, and you can even seen in the images thats posted the image quality is way less sharp than it should be if there weren't flaws in the rip that means the bitrate reported is wrong. That's not the bitrate of the movie, its the bitrate of the movie and useless black borders. In circumstances like this its in iMBT's favour, and that's at half the filesize :(

According to the specs for another bonus in iMBT's favour, the aspect ratio is more accurate too, then again the lack of cropping means this means little on ferox's specs, but can be found by croipping in a paint application and determining the ar.

ferox's most definitely does not blow it out of the water, not at all really, not in reality and not even in the specs if correctly read, i'm afraid. Sorry if that sounds harsh or something that's going to be taken the wrong way but its true. Providing iMBT has cropped, deinterlaced and not made a mistake, then its probably better and a more appropriate filesize (1.4GB for 1hr of footage?).

From the information above, iMBT is a sound rip, great quality and has no mistakes (something i'll see if i can confirm when it completes), and sounds like the best of the two options.

Don't mean to contradict you ace, but its not true what you said :(

spud you're totally right about the cropping of course. I'm no ripping machine myself but I have read that encoding the black bars without cropping is a waste. Even still it's no comment on ferox's rip as the picture still appears to be incredible but I suppose cropping would save diskspace and re-allocate bits to better locations if used. I'm not trying to parrot what you're saying as I know it's true and it's obviously a feature of encoding apps to have a crop tool for this reason primarily. Problem is that like an idiot I never really thought about it when comparing the specs - it is the defining factor and as you said if iMBT cropped correctly then it is going to explain the huge difference in filesizes and bitrates between the 2 rips in a positive way. And don't sweat it as I don't take learning something or accurate constructive criticism of as a bad thing at all - quite the opposite. :)

btw it doesn't sound harsh at all - knowing what you said is true and the fact that I didnt take the borders and additional bits to encode them into account is a very valid point.
