Clicked!

Is there more than one film about this? (Probably...)

Check out the review on the IMDb main page:

"A movie made for perverts" :beerchug:

Yes there is at least one other movie about this case.
This one seems to be the english dubbed version:
http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?t=13775&highlight=cannibal
Tried to download Rothenburg for quite a while and i always got Cannibal.
I own the german Cannibal DVD but unfortunately no subs.

Cannibal is some kind of low budget amateur piece. But it has good actors is directed very well excellent lighting and i think it's way more extreme than it's hollywood counterpart.
Especially in the sexual content. Yes Cannibal is full of gay scenes.
But how could one make a movie about two gays, eating the chopped of penis of one of them while he was still alive.
I was really surprised when i watched this. One of this movies where you think 'i hope no one enters the room and sees me watching this, but i cant switch of'
When you are interested in this case or want to get rid of your girlfriend it's worth a watch, but be warned!

I'm looking forward to see Rothenburg but I'm kind of sceptic because of the unnecessary "graduate student researches cannibal killer" subplot.
As you maybe all know, this is banned in Germany because the real Killer, Armin Meiwes, went to court and achieved that it could not be screened.
What better promotion can a film get?
And i wonder if Thomas Kretschmann will suck dick  Well, i don't think so.

Mmmmmmm, anyone for some spotted dick?

Both movies mentioned in this thread sound interesting indeed. It is such and interesting real life case it seems hard that they could not make an interesting and confronting film about it.

So clickedy click! :) :) :)

Apparently the film is not banned in Germany yet, according to some of the IMDb forumers anyway...

Last thing I heard, it won't.
Actually I even read a statement from the German distributor Senator saying that the case was won by Meiwes and that is also the current state of affairs according to their website:

(German)

I cant read German to verify :(

Anyone who is interested in what Miewes's favourite dish may have tasted like but doesn't want the limelight can visit the restaurant I read about in my Fortean Times mag a few months ago.....

The Statement on the German Distributers Website says the court decision that this film can not be shown is from 3.3.2006. Thats the actual state of affairs.

And this case indeed is veery strange. And the trial was realy interesting too, because Meiwes' victim wanted to be butchered and gave him the permission to do it.

They even filmed their "Session" on Video and the judges etc. watched it all. Alltogether about 6 hours.
I'm waiting for a release of that...
Meiwes watched the Butchering at home and then he became horny and masturbated.
He's really weird, man.

There's also a docu about the case, here:
ed2k: The Man Who Ate His Lover (Docu Cannibal Armin Meiwes Rotenburg Rohtenburg).avi  [359.33 Mb] [Stats]

very shallow piece of docu, but you'll get to see Meiwes' neighbours etc :P

Now if someone could get a bootleg of the real video tape of that evening
