This is OGM -> Xvid Video and OGG sound. So u need to download OGG codecs to play this file.
look here http://www.movieking.co.uk/guides/ogm.html
I just don't understand why it is shared as BIN image and not ogm-file, but that's a question the releaser could answer.

i *think* the reason it is a bin/cue, is because you can disable error checking and fit a lot more on a cd (like a VCD). I don't think its very popular/common though and what with DVD its redundant.
Anyway, I accidently move this to the VCD section, thought it was vcd.

its is very "popular/common " to find 800+mb ogg & Matroska mkv files ment for xcd on the usernet spud. I get like two or 3 a week. u should subscribe or crack passes cause some of the xcd sci-fi & horror group releases are rarities that really KICK ASS collie wrote: | I just don't understand why it is shared as BIN image and not ogm-file, but that's a question the releaser could answer. |
in order to burn the 800mb ogg file on one 700mb disc it needs to be convereted into an image bin/cue. it easier 4 me to share the bin/cue rather than the ogg cause it removes the step of going -->dat--->HD--->dat--->ogg and or dat-->ogg which i cant really figure. there always ends up being a few extra kb, i read a post about why b4 on doom 9 but not how to fix - i got tired of looking, so in order to reshare I need to get the hash matching the original bincue. which is pretty much one clk with blindwrite, thus the bin/cue format. plus i feel like I'd have to do alot of additional explaining about mode2cdmaker if i shared an 802mb ogg file.
If you just copy an xcd's dat file to yr HD - you fuck the file cause thers extra crap in it(a few extra kb), so if u then take that fuctdatfile and try and create a new image with it or share it with out figuring how to remove the extra kb's you will run into tons of probs trying to burn - I went thru like 10 cdr in one day tring to figure out how to get the orginal ogg hash back and or make a usable image that i could burn from the copied to hd dat file w/ the few extra kb's in it. the proggy dat2file which is supposed to convert the dat back to ogg was driving me crazy
so i figured bin/cue would be alot easier to reshare cause its the only way I can get the matching hash back.
...but it was all pretty new then so im not sure
there might be an easier way now
but when I was screwing with it
the doom9 tutorials were not keeping up with the updates to mode2cdmaker and dat2file proggs and lots of peeps posting on NG's were posting fuct dat files that i and alot of users couldnt figure out how to burn, but since then they all seem to be posting large 700+mb ogg files rather than the dat. so I havent had to screw with it in a while
knock on wood

I don't usually whin, I can't play/convert, but I can't play/convert. I love H.P. Lovecraft so...
I've tried dat2filegui to convert-just blinks
I play/convert ogg/ogm/xvid daily/codecs installed.
tried extracting the dat with UltraISO then convert
tried Graphedit-stalls
have installed:
riff-cdxa-filter-test6b
couldn't ever get the original cue so I used:
FILE "MODE2CD.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
INDEX 00 00:04:00
INDEX 01 00:06:00
W media player stalls
Apex dvd player laughs
What?

as you were:
FILE "MODE2CD.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
solved the problem
thanks anyway

this thing is giving me all sorts of grief. My burner wont overburn the 2 mb nessesary, nor will it take any of my 800mb disks. I tried extracting the .dat with winIso but it said 'unable to read format'?!?! I tried this with another vcd I had stored in .bin format and got the same message. burning that vcd and then copying the .dat over to hd works fine though. makes no sense to me...

Dont use any extractor, just use a virtual drive mapper like Daemon Tools. Mount the image to the virtual drive and copy the dat-file to your HD. Then rename the .dat to .OGM and you're done.

Why should you do that, the XCD's are perfectly playable in every PC. Just install the drivers needed which can be found overhere
