Language: English

Plot:
Was APOCALYPSE NOW or THE DEER HUNTER a big hit in Thailand? Add some really bad English dubbing and lots of kung-fu movie sound effects and you've got this adventure-horror hybrid. It's a horrors-of-war exploitation film that takes the violence inherent in warfare to absurd extremes. Besides the usual bullet hits and sharp-spiked jungle booby traps you get limb chopping, decapitation, penis stabbing, eye gouging and a spike to the head followed by brain eating (hence the title). One hungry guy even eats the maggots off of a decomposing corpse! Blood flows and spurts to such ridiculous lengths that it's hard not to laugh at the cartoonish brutality on view here. The video box says: SO REALISTIC -- THIS FILM MAKES "PLATOON" LOOK LIKE A FAMILY OUTING! I can't argue with hype like that!

Not my rip, but damned glad I found it for the UEC in english

I'm looking after this for ages. But what about the length? US tape should be ca. 1:40 hours long. This one is only 1:23 (like the cut german version under the name "Jungle killers"). So what version have we here? German version should be cut in nearly ANY violent scene.

Have a look: http://www.ofdb.de/view.php?page=film&fid=19023

To verify the version: Is it fullscreen or letterboxed (1.66:1)?

Never heard of it but it sounds good to me. Hope it has its foreskin. Its has PAL framerate, so I doubt its from the US vhs tape (unless gpsot was wrong). :beerchug: Dxa

Well I skimmed through it...I can't tell if it's cut or not...some pretty gruesome scenes in it for beeing cut..the editing is very jagged..lots of flash shots of panning from one character to another like an old western.
I was in question of the source to Grindcallus but it says us vhs...but gspot wasn't wrong...maybe mislabled...definately a vhs rip though.
I would say go for it since it is well worth it even if it is cut as there are plenty of brain munchign scenes and other fun totrure stuff.I'll try and get my hands on a true uncut and we can all have a laugh.

The original US-VHS version is told to be vanished. If the movie goes about 1:23, it is the German DVD version. The label is a very cheap one with bootlegs now and than, so it is possible that it is a DVD-rip but looks like a VHS. Despite the running time, you can verify the German version by watching the movie: As the original is not available anymore, they cut a different Actionmovie together with scenes from "cannibal mercenary" - so half of the film is an complete other one. Nevertheless - I agree with DXaKrator - it is the only chance to view at least parts of this jewel.

I just watched this..it's the full version...no cut in scenes at all...One thing I did notice though was quite a lot of dropped frames which might explain the runtime on it.Like I said...definately a vhs rip

I agree with trep! Just saw it! It is definitely the US-Version, not the crappy German DVD! Funny that because of the jumpcuts we got the same length as the German one. DxaKrator, You are now in my personal hall of fame! This was one of the two last films I'm looking for. Now we just need the unrated version of "blood rage"...

The Version of 1983. As I already wrote in
http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?t=8649
I have a very crappy version on VHS. The Canadian DVD is heavily cut. My VHS is so bad that it looses colour at some times...
The unrated version is without exaggeration one of the bloodiest slashers ever made (and believe me: I know them nearly all...) As far as I know the only uncut version is the Australian one (The US-Tape is only R-rated)
