Slow to start but once the ball starts rolling this movie is amazing. Two thumbs up, (pause) that actress.

I tried checking out Chan-wook Park's filmorgaphy, but I found that Oldboy was a one hit wonder. I'll give one more chance, but if this sucks as well, he's out!

Chan-wook Park is anything but a one hit wonder. The whole Sympathy trilogy is amazing, I'm not sure what you were expecting from them, but to me they were emotionally powerful, beautifully shot, and surreally gory. What more could you want?

Mr. & Ms. Vengeance are nowhere near as good as Oldboy. I found them quite messy and boring. From what I gather, Oldboy was based on a manga, while the others were not, which would explain why they are so far appart. Kinda like Matrix and it's übercrappy sequels.
Also, the cinematography of Oldboy is so much better than anything else he's ever made, it's like it's from a different director.
