Hello all.......... :D
Here's my first post / release here........
of a rather good film (IMHO) but unfortunately the source is from a VHS copy :( so nothing great quality wise :(

"The Devils"
(Directed by Ken Russel. 10 min approx Introduction by Alex Cox and British Board of Film Classification)
part of the BBC forbidden weekend series ... many years ago ...

Image

This version is the british cinema release. It only had 1 min 30 sec cut , rather than the 5 min or so in the standard American cinema and video release (even the british video release, they used american version not sure about any other european version)

Dont think there is a totally un-cut version (I'll wait for the posts to prove me wrong   )

imdb

"Cardinal Richelieu and his power-hungry entourage seek to take control of pre-rennaisance France, but need to destroy Father Grandier - the priest who runs the fortified town that prevents them from exerting total control. So they seek to destroy him by setting him up as a warlock in control of a devil-possessed nunnery, the mother superior of which is sexually obsessed by him. A mad witch-hunter is brought in to gather evidence against the priest, ready for the big trial."

The Devils info.txt

The Devils 1 of 2.mpg

The Devils 2 of 2.mpg

Just a pity the source was not great quality :(

Here's a couple of screen shots to give you an idea......

Much applause!!!!! This is one of my all time favorite films.
I've seen it more than any other film, and I watch alot of movies.
But I have to say I have never seen this extended version, and have only heard rumors of it.(me being from the states and all)
I would love to see an uncut dvd release of this, but I heard the scene still missing (1:30) will never make into a print of the film. Something graphic about a preist or something, I can't remember what I heard exactly.

Lets hope that one day it happens though.

Thank for the post and I cannot wait to see it.

Remember though it's only a LQ VHS rip...... don't build your hopes up too much  I originally posted it in Fileheaven "anyone interested thread" way back in July but stopped cos of the quality  .......... then recently had some requests for it again from people that were aware of the quality issue.....so thought I'd put it in a new thread at fileheaven and here.

It was Iconoclast that sugested I'd post it over here at HHAH .....

Damn... how this can be possibel? There are several sources for CD2, but I (and several others downloaders) cant find any full sources for CD1 (not even in Razorback)?

So close (only 1,11% missing), but still so far...
