Cathy's Curse is a made-in-Montreal horror flick about a little girl who becomes possessed by the spirit of an evil woman who once lived in the same house. It's pretty cheesy by today's standards but it has a great mid 70s feel to it and despite a low budget, has some pretty good make-up and performances. It was clearly inspired by The Exorcist but it has enough original ideas to deserve some degree of respect. Too bad it's so hard to find.

Hmm... mid 70's feel, an another 'The Exorcist' clone, hard to find... sounds like a my kind of flick :wacky:

Um, is this your rip? 376MB's. How's the quality? Do you have some specs to give?

Without specs/nfo's releases go to 'Screeners & Unverified Releases section'. So always post some file details... :)

It's from a budget DVD I found that contained a series of public dormain
horror flicks. Including that gore feast "Pieces" (which has been released by a few different small DVD companies).
The Picture to "Cathy's Curse" is quite a horror in itself and looks nothing like any DVD ever seen. Thats why I saw fit that it belong to this section.
I guess it's watchable but this seems to be the only version of the film avalible other than an old vhs that from what I heard had also a bad quality picture.
The run time on this is 81min but on the box and on imdb it's listed at 89min.
I don't know if it's cut or not since I never seeen it before.
This movie is a complete bad bad "B" movie, with some real horrible acting to make it worth while for a good chuckle.
Now the file size... well i can say that on the DVD it doesn't even come close to fulling half of the disc and this company could had easly added another movie on the same disc.
This AVI is a XVID file. enjoy   :eatthis:
Video Stream
Codec: XVID
Width x Height: 352 x 288
Frames/Sec: 29.970
Length: 1:21:36

Audio Stream
Format: MPEG Layer 3 (ISO/MPEG-1 Layer 3)
Bitrate: 192 kBit/s
Samples/Sec: 44.100 kHz
Mode: Stereo
Length: 1:21:36

Maybe I did something wrong here *Newbie Alarm*

Also, if I can make a suggestion, an old movie like this doesn't need a 192k bitrate for the sound. 96 or 128 at the very most is ideal. If you rip it again I'd like to see it, so thanks! 8)
