Holy fucking shit! Now that was a great episode! You think they are going to make season 3 after all? Looks like season 2 ends with another cliffhanger...

Hmm, I don't have much hope... but... maybe... possibly... who knows? Anyway, fingers crossed!

HBO has part ownership by the BBC, I don't know if HBO does, but BBC very often puts quality before overwhelming viewing figures (that's why everyone loves the bbc). Its not like no one was watching the show, and those that were watching weren't rating it very highly.

I know I bought the carnivale series 1 box set when it came out, and I'll buy series 2 too :)

In finally found out the subtitles of season 1.

Mik7Man @ Italodome posted this:
ed2k: Carnivale.sub-Eng-srt.rar  [137.5 Kb] [Stats]
which i tested on the hdtv releases by sfm/fov/lol and found out they were not on sync, maybe because they were from a dvd @ 25 fps.
i tried to re-sync them at 23.976 which is the frame-rate of the hdtv rips, and they automagically went on-sync! i tried a few episodes and all seems ok. here they are:
ed2k: Carnivale.Season.1.subs.eng.srt.23.976fps.rar  [135.0 Kb] [Stats]

damn, sorry, i got the PAL dvd box set anyway... didn't know subs were needed or i'd rip them.

For the record btw, use Subtitle Workshop to convert subtitle fps and resynch them. Very, very easy.

btw, if anyone knows someone who has a copy of the first season dvd, there are english and french subs on there, HIGHLY sought-after for us non-english speaking folks

Weird, just watched the first episode last week and downloading the other dvd-rips a.t.m. and now I see this thread... :o

I wish someone could provide subtitles for the rips though, found English subs for the first episode after downloading dozens of French and Spanish ones from emule. None of the subtitle-sites seem to have them (they only have season 2 weirdly enough).

hi,
i've put them on release last night (i'm on razorback2). this night i'll try to upload them on extratitles.
if someone already snatched them and can put them before this night (GMT+1), is welcomed. i think they have to be uploaded individually, cause the file size limit at extratitles is 100k.

I should have never started watching this show! I strectched out for months too! But early this morning the sad inevitability finally came....
At least there was almost an ending. Its like the longest movie ever, that begs for a sequel! What the hell show am I gonna watch now?!? Sopranos? Yeah right! Oz? Not into gay sex! Band of brothers was good, but I watched that.... Deadwood was real good but I'm waiting for the 3rd season. Is Six Feet Under good? Not in any way a replacement for Carnivale, but ... C'mon HBO, throw me a frickin bone here, I'm starving!

Sopranos never could hold my interest. I grew up in the same area as the Sopranos take place, and every one there is obsessed with being 'gangstar' or whatever, so I find it too 'pop' for my tastes. Any good horror-based shows? The UK or Canada has got to have something. League of Gentlemen is great, but not in the same vein as Carnivale in any respect. Guess I'll give the Sopranos one more shot (I watched the first 2 seasons when they first aired, but lost any motivation to continue watching it.) Every other show seems to be Jewish-Americans whining and 45 yr old women being sluts. Argh! Am I forced to watch z-grade stuff forever? The a-grade stuff doesn't do it for me, most of the time.
Well, at least next year there will be more Deadwood and Trailer Park Boys. But, no horror....

if you don't know it yet you should definitely give it a go...
