First of all, I need to say, that this topic was a pain in the ass to create. The less I can say... Had to find what to offer, then where to post, what to write and finally do it. I first thought of starting a Collection but compiling everything about Hammer Studios would be too much for a single guy. Finally, the things I want to share better belongs to the Horror Series section, as the folowing documentaries were aired as a TV series in 1990 (even if nothing's really clear nowhere, even on the Hammer official site).

Then I want to thank Garibald, who brought those precious Hammer documentaries to a private site from whom I got 'em and who offered me to share them with you.
All Credits go to him and the unknown ripper of those masterpieces.
Thank you.

As Garibald says : "Not my rip - from where I got it a few years ago, the seeder claimed it is a rip from DVD edition."

We'll have to beleive him. ;)

Anyway, I've added all the specs and screenshots I could. Quality is not too bad to really good. Depends on what you expect...

About the DVD, I wrote:
It offers a compilation of 10 documentaries (made for TV) availabled on VHS in the middle of the 90's or in 2000, depends on what you beleive and where you find the source, plus 3 documentaries never edited before, neither on VHS nor DVD.
You'll find 10 retailed plots and the covers of the VHS editions and quotes that I've found, for most of them, on Image.

My research on Image offered me the original air dates but no mention about the Channel the show's been aired. Maybe in the UK, maybe in the States, maybe around Alpha Centaury ? According to BFI, it was aired on Channel Four. Sure of nothing but that's what I found, so that's what I write. Don't ask me. If you know exactly, tell me and I'll edit my topic and correct it.
You can also visit the Image if you need more details (about everything except the series in itself, there's nothing there to inform you, except the cost of the DVD) or simply buy the original edition, (those things may happen)... ;)

Narrated by Oliver Reed - Screenwriters, Ashley and Robert Sidaway - Produced by Robert Sidaway and Roy Skeggs

This video is 25-minutes of nostalgic suspense that shows the birth and re-birth of Dracula as portrayed by the consummate actor Christopher Lee and remains some of the best work from the 'World of Hammer'."

"Oliver Reed narrates this video that takes a look at the world of vampires. The program was made by Hammer Film Productions of England, an independent film company that has always pushed audiences to the edge with its controversial images of female vampires. Men are supposedly tantalized by these female vampires who are both attractive and potentially deadly. Since some of Hammer's films were considered a bit erotic when first made, this film may be best suited to adults. It contains clips from such vampire classics as "Brides of Dracula," "Kiss of the Vampire," "The Vampire Lovers" and "Lust for a Vampire."

You can also try other Hammer goodies, posted on Dead Donkey :
¹ Thank you very much Brutus, for those 2 pearls.

Image

Or try those ones, found by myself. They may complete your nerd's collection as they did mine ! ;) :

Image _____Image
  • Hammer, the Studio that Dripped Horror.rar (2 CD's Souddtracks + Covers)
  • Hammer Studio [1957] Operation Universe, a Documentary.avi, a 25 minute documentary part of the "Spaceways" DVD, about the British attempts to harness atomic energy for the future. The documentary, Operation Universe, was produced in colour and HammerScope in 1957. It predicts that ships and other craft will be run by virtually free and limitless atomic energy. More frighteningly we are shown dangerous atomic cargo delivered to a research laboratory on the back of a lorry with relatively little protection in the event of accident or theft. (only one full source and he's not always online... I'm fighting since 3 days to get it, but hope, my friends, hope...)

Please,

Enjoy.
