ed2k: The.Walking.Dead.S02E11.Judge.Jury.Executioner.HDTV.XviD-FQM.avi  [349.85 Mb] [Stats]

You may want to go for the x264 version this time, since the file is smaller and the video probably has higher quality.

ed2k: The.Walking.Dead.S02E11.Judge.Jury.Executioner.HDTV.x264-ASAP.mp4  [337.45 Mb] [Stats]

I also found the reason for them changing the codec: http://scenerules.irc.gs/t.html?id=2012_SDTVx264r.nfo (The SD x264 TV Releasing Standards 2012)

Deleted all eps in the early 2nd season. Don't wast my time with a boring soap opera even if there are few zombies in it. Don't intend to watch this again.

Season 2 finale:

ed2k: The.Walking.Dead.S02E13.Beside.The.Dying.Fire.HDTV.XviD-2HD.avi  [349.07 Mb] [Stats]

ed2k: The.Walking.Dead.2x13.Beside.The.Dying.Fire.HDTV-ASAP.mp4  [339.13 Mb] [Stats] (I downloaded the mp4 file last time and the quality was equal using almost the same resolution)

Quote:
The third season will consist of 16 episodes and is scheduled to begin filming in May.

On March 18, 2012, during the Talking Dead, it was confirmed that The Prison will be the main location for the survivors, and it was revealed that Danai Gurira had been cast as Michonne. Along with the continuing cast, David Morrissey has been cast as The Governor, a major antagonist in the comic series. Michael Rooker will reprise his role as Merle Dixon, Daryl's older brother.

I understand the thoughts behind the changed encoding policy of that group, but a gain of 10 MB is hardly worth the trouble.

I have to correct myself, because the AVI/XviD version has a resolution of 624 x H whereas the MP4/x264 version has a resoltuion of 720 x H.
I got the mp4 version, because I am watching these on my box with VLC. My standalone can't play the mp4 files.

The last Supernatural I got was ~100 MB 'lighter'. Great quality. Definitely worth the trouble.

Yes, 100 MB is worth the trouble (maybe), but I was referring to the two files chup had posted: the difference is only 10 MB.

The real difference is the quality.

With x264 you can usually get the same quality than Xvid but @ 2/3 of the bitrate. Or you can choose a similar bitrate but a better quality.

All the scene standard definition Xvid TV encodes have some really big ugly dancing macroblocks which are mostly gone on their x264/mp4 versions.

Well, I read that the quality was equal, this sheds some new light, though.

I didn't notice a big quality difference, just the resolution being higher at a lower filesize.

Nevermind. At the end of the episode it says "Next episode this fall".

And why not? The series is streamlined for young woman. Bahhh.. where is my baby... *whine*, *whimper*, *tear drop*. Geek factor? Zero. Season 1 was good. I stopped watching season 2 when it
became a soap opera, which accidentally had a zombie now an then.

Is it just me or there's a book named the same title? I think I saw it somewhere.
