Quote:
Cynical, animated sketches dissecting the seedier side of modern Britain. In Monkey Dust, institutionalised murderers are released from prison and have to face a country unrecognisable from that which they remember: divorced and disillusioned fathers try to maintain relationships with their absentee children; heroin addicts shoot up in shuttered shopping centres; an inexperienced homosexual seeks gratification in a gents toilet; a lecherous and depraved old man poses as a young schoolgirl to chat online with other schoolgirls; hooded youths with knives stalk the streets. And the comedy? Well, as a kind of animated League Of Gentlemen it was fairly successful, if a little undone by signposting. The voicing was particularly effective, however, and the animations fascinating: a range of companies provided the sketches so the style changed radically from piece to piece, maintaining freshness, classy use of shade and darkness produced a sort of cartoon-noir which melded well with the material, and the musical soundtrack added immeasurably to the mood.

i watched the first one a few months ago, very nice looking, though i didnt find it too funny. some parts were funny, but it all must be an england thing.

i guess its not really for kids.

the part whith the marketing guy trying to think up a name, and inspiration hits him when he;s doing that chick was chuckle worth-ey. but then, i dont like red dwarf much either.(dont hit me)

still, the animation is very nice looking, sharp colors, good quality.

eh, i thought u like southpark, simpsons, and family guy.
you dont like family guy? i liked it. its rather crude, but it did give me an occasional chuckle.
some of the shows i watch i guess are crude american humor, sealab 2021,harvey birdman, brak show.
i think reading quotes from red dwarf are funny, i just cant follow the accents on the show.

i just noticed, i watch a lot of cartoons.

no, I'm talking Friends, seinfeld and all that 'critically acclaimed' shit that is so unfunny it makes you want to hurl. South Park, simpsons and family guy are actually funny, to the nth degree. Although I'm hoping simpsons will end, its not fairing too well currently.

Before someone asks, the title music is "That's Not Really Funny" by Eels.

if it doesnt have a talking dog or a cyclops, then 'critically acclaimed' it is not. i didnt watch much tv in my teens to 25's, so i think im still in cartoon mode. those above criticaly acllaimed you mentioned only get a blank stare from me.

hehe.. this show is just getting better... only hope they can keep it up.

favorite lines from ep 2:

- What kind of name is 'God' anyway?

- Um. Well... It's in the Bible

- Yeah, spelled backwards....

eps 3,4&5 of season 1 had me worried a little as they got a bit too repetitive with the jokes, but then it ended with a bang in the season finale (literary actually). only seen the first 2 eps of season 2 and they're great and fresh again. although I kinda miss the character of the old computer sleazball.

****** Spoilers. kinda. ********

the tribute to all the americans that died in the middle ages was a great parody, and the old man told to wear his best suit... hahahaha.

the riot vs the police fight in ep 2x01 was pure genious.

and the queerwolf (american werewolf tribute) bwahahahaa...

Has anyone seen Clone High?

Here's a link to the first episode. I'm not highjacking your topic, spud. Just posting because animation seems to be the topic here. Edit it out, if you want.
