Most avi's are dead. Perhaps we'll have more luck with mpg's.

yeah, I've allready canceled ed2k: American.Gothic.-.08.-.Strong.Arm.Of.The.Law.(v3Ng3Anc3).avi  [322.12 Mb] [Stats] which was uncomplete. When I found these eps with a search it showed around 20 - 30 sources for each mpeg file, so I'm hoping they are complete

since this is complete and going at a healthy speed
ed2k: American.Gothic.-.04.-.Damned.If.You.Don'T.(v3Ng3Anc3).avi  [336.48 Mb] [Stats]

I canceled the lesser quality mpg one.

But still, these mpgs aren't that bad. quite watchable, at least on TV. The pilot is nearing completion. Will post a few screens then.

ok, I fianlly completed the first vcd ep.
the quality is rather fine, albeit the audio is a little shallow.

Now I did a preview of the second ep and found that to be in much much worse quality. Some disturbance there looked like classical vhs, so I'm guessing it's taped off tv then ripped. Did a preview of the .avi as well and that was much better again but with almost no sources.

completed ed2k: American.Gothic.-.21.-.The.Buck.Stops.Here.(Vcd).mpg  [445.09 Mb] [Stats]

I've seen 1 full source for the .avi one but just every now and then, and my mule sais it was a sharaza client so I'm cancelling that one.

Also cancelling these which I've never seen one source for at all:
ed2k: American.Gothic.-.03.-.Eye.Of.The.Beholder.avi  [349.02 Mb] [Stats]
ed2k: American.Gothic.-.05.-.Dead.To.The.World.avi  [333.85 Mb] [Stats]
ed2k: American.Gothic.-.07.-.Meet.The.Beetles.avi  [337.59 Mb] [Stats]

did a little updating on the confirming of these. As you see I completed both the .mpg and the .avi of ep 2 and this is the difference in quality:

Image
Image

Image

AVI File Details
========================================
Name.........: American Gothic - 02 - A Tree Grows In Trinity.avi
Filesize.....: 343 MB (or 352,246 KB or 360,699,904 bytes)
Runtime......: 00:43:40 (65,497 fr)
Video Codec..: DivX 5.0
Video Bitrate: 967 kb/s
Audio Codec..: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
Audio Bitrate: 128 kb/s (64/ch, stereo) CBR
Frame Size...: 384x288 (1.33:1) [=4:3]

so of cource it's much more preferable, but it took me MUCH longer to complete..and I still haven't gotten all of the .avi of ep 4.
The vcd's fly by in a healthy tempo though.

I wish all good version eps were released on bit torrent...

hmm there is quite a noticable difference in quality between the 2. have got the mpegs of the 1st 5 eps so far, shame the avi's are incomplete :(

not all eps are as bad as those screens I took of ep 2. That was the worst of them (yet).

I read some time ago that this was supposed to be released on dvd, and that Sam Raimi was gonna do commentary for the whole show, but then he got caught up with Spiderman, and it was shelved. maybe in a few years, if he hasn't got anything else to do again...?
