I'm glad you asked that. The reson would of course be spiritual growft and prosperity amoung under-developed countries. With recent rumours that the aid isn't getting through but infact was just another cheep-o attempt to get even richer, som investors have gotten cold feet and backed out. Stephen King's wife Tahitba is currently in the process of knitting warm woolen socks for these unwholesome characters, but it remains to be seen if it will have any affect or if not the whole thing was made up.

because tv networks have no clue what people want!
You listening Fox and Sci-Fi?

LOL
And @Spud, I think they know very well what people really want. For instance, I (like many of my friends) always wandered why there was no fucking talking aardvark next to all those children ghosts in horror movies. Now, Stephen has finally answered my pleas... A big, furry, cuddly animal (far better than I could ever imagine, because it's also got sense of humour).

I think I won the race for episode 5
http://www.dead-donkey.com/modules.php? ... ent2&id=13
Rewatched the original again (2 1/2 episodes) of Kingdom 1, and I want to reiterate, why the hell did they remake this?

poor old stephen king, now if he had've done the decent thing and got hit by another car
still, the bear-ardvark thing was kinda cool...
he's probably doing a Neil Gaiman, another spawn coming so chuck out some sort of trashy hack rip off...
why on earth lars actually put his name on it though...
still, gotta take the 'gut mit der uum' - burn the damn thing!

Later episodes are slightly better than the earlier ones, but the stories are so done.
Reminds me of Secret Window... that's not so secret, since the same things been done so many times (inc. extremely famously, and quite recently). That film is only saved by Johnny Depp.

have to watch everything with Depp..
It's a law.
I love his interest in these kind of films, but can't they think of something a little more original??

All those surprising endings with a twist, we've seen this so mane times it's not surprising anymore. For me, a surprising ending nowadays would be one *without* a twist, where everything turns out to be exactly as it seems.

ah but the other two were carried out in the best possible way, so delicately infact that they are the greatest twists in cinema history. Really don't want to spoil it, but if you've seen the movie you'll know the movies to which I refer (and its been done lots of times ).
As for kingdom, well, the stories are crappy, the only thing that started with promise is the story of Kingdom hospital itself, and that's already been done in the original, and this version isn't too hot. The 'ghosts' are so crappy, there's no mystery or anything, hell lets give them a lead speaking role in this series shall we mr king

I know exactly what you mean, its hardly done successfully anymore I think fincher has got the best track record for this in recent times... Se7en, The Game and Fight Club were great.
