Oh, I forgot to tell you it was playing fine when I was posting the last message, I was just curious what the reason was that ffdshow could do this and xvid couldn't.

I would really like to see The Bruiser series - you can find more info at the bottom of this page (the imdb entry is useless): http://www.martinfreeman.com/tv_comedy.php

The Mighty Boosh is very Dark Place/Police Squad style comedy, although out of 3 episodes I've seen, its not as good as either.

Still it has its moments, and episode 2 has Sanchez in (okay he's playing a different character but he actually sounds like that in real life  ).

Deadman wrote:
Sorta verified (Not got it all yet). This is a weird comedy show that was broadcast on BBC3 (and was originally a radio play). It's about a bunch of people who look after a small zoo (All the animals are lifesize puppets or men in suits).

I wasn't sure about this but after smoking some wacky weed it had me in stitches. ;)

I wasn't sure what to think of it (infact deadman's comment seems to reflect that), the first episode isn't very funny, but the other episodes I've seen so far (2 and 3) have some good moments. I was laughing at the Bollo episode though :)

Accents are the same as Marengi's btw. Oh and those encodes are dreadful...

No cropping on 16:9 material, tagged with the rippers name in the border (Don't do it people!), and its got some gay intro sequence by the ripper too. Should have focused on the rip, could have been quite nice actually since BBC3 is a digital channel and its a nice clean widescreen programme

Its one of the BBC3 comedies, which have been Little Britain and Monkey Dust (that's a pretty ace track record for a new digital only channel don't you think btw?)

Saw one episode some time ago, but thought it wasn't so good.

Salutations cyber-warrior/warrioress,

I?m firing off this missive to calm my flock o?chill-dren. First off the bat, thanks are due to those of you who continue to blow the torch of Darkplace, notably all at the ?Save Darkplace? website. Cheers fellas, keep up the bad work (by which I mean good work). I owe you a figurative beer. (You won?t actually get a beer from me).

The news on a second season of Darkplace is thus. There is no news. Sadly the rest of the tapes of mein meisterwerk are likely to remain chez Marenghi unless the world makes some kind of evolutionary leap and catches up with my vision. And, between you, me and the proverbial, I think I might have taped over one of them with an episode of The Thornbirds. Tant pis, the digital versatile disc is nearing completion and will feature the following terrifying treatlets:

Commentaries to all episodes
Deleted scenes
Test footage
Original ?One Track Lover? Single (Extended Version)
Over an hour of extra talking heads
Photo galleries
Original radio ads
Original storyboards and storyboard to scene comparisons
Plus more

In short, it will render all previous DVDs redundant. (And shut down those shameless profiteering sons of bitches on E-bay.) I will let you know the release date as soon as I have it or pretty soon after I have it.

Till then, I remain your obedient shaman, Garth Marenghi

PS. If you were wondering what happened to the mooted repeats of Darkplace, I suggest you write to the Home Secretary.

PPS. If you happen to be in Croatia, Todd?s got a new Taco commercial out there this week only.

PPPS. Do check out my website garthmarenghi.com for new content this week. Spread The Word, pilgrims.

I just watched 1st episode and it was great. I have to get other episodes too. Is there any way to get more sources to them? I have only 2 sources in episode 4. I need this serie fast to my computer.

Just watched The Mighty Boosh ep1 and thought it was at least decent. Getting the rest. Tnx.
What's this 'Little Brittain' you're mentioning?

Little Britain is a sketch show, a traditional one but a bit warped as most stuff is in the uk post League of Gentlemen.

Its funny, but i'm not a huge fan of it. Its the biggest british comedy series atm.

You see live8 at all? Little Britain came on and did a bit then (dude in the wheelchair).

Its one of those critically acclaimed ones, but i prefer The Officie (and his new series Extras which started this week :) )

after watching a few more Boosh eps, I'm starting to suspect that the people behind it are all gay? There's alot of homo-erotic sublimity...

ages and ages since I watched bottom, but as far as I can remember it, the gay jokes there were more straight (no pun intended) foreward, and not "between the lines" sort of, like in Boosh.

Actually it doesn't really matter any which way though. The show makes me laugh. =)

PS: was Guest House Paradiso worth watching? heard someone say it was just crap.

Its no where near as good as Bottom, its okay i guess.

Best Bottom is series 2 episode 6, 's out (they are all called Bottom, followed by the episode name). That's hilarious, but all of the series are some of the best.

As far as comedy shows go, imo Red Dwarf = best, Bottom close second.

as far as gay jokes go, Richie gets increasingly more homosexual in the live stage shows  Then again, i doubt his character is gay... i just think he's desperate .

Check out bottom live 1 and 2.
