Is this a VHS rip? I remember signing an online petition to get this released on DVD some while ago.

I love Lovecraft-stories but I think it's hard to make a movie out of these stories.....most of the movies based on his stories suck....
If Lovecraft had lived 50 years later he maybe would have been a great director.....

My two cents:

An average movie IMO. Was a little too slow paced and when it finally got going it was suddenly over in a wink. It fealt more like the pilot for a serie than a movie to be honest. Since my short term memory is seriously fucked I had a hard time remembering all the names and who's who. (But that's a very big problem of mine and I guess I can't really blame the movie)

Although the picture quality was quite good, the audio quality was a little anoying. Think it was mono, and the editing was sometimes terrible. Voices sounding completley different after a cut etc.

At the begining the movie reminded me very much of Harry d'Amor from 'Lord of Illusions' but the end turned more to an adaption of Lovecraft's 'The Rats in the Walls'.

I'll add that I have not read the original story from which it is inspired, of which I've heard this is quite a faithfull adaption.

PS: Where was Jeffrey Combs?

Same here. I was thinking about DivFix but was too lazy to do this, then I needed to make some space quickly on my hdd and deleted it.

Why should a different filename miraculously heal the file?

Yeah, thanks for reminding me. Although most times it's hard to say as not many people are bothered with posting screenshots or even the basic specs. :(

You can always count on HHAH when you're looking for older horror flicks. Hope this is still floating around.
