We are on a new host, as you can see from the news articles at the top.
Please can you report any errors that are related to the move; this will be errors like 404 / 403, missing resources, inability to upload avatars, etc.

Would you like us to post them in this thread, or in the Site issues/bugs thread?

It's a tad slower in opening pages, but nothing to worry about.

I don't think that's the server speed / performance but the location and number of hops. It is not in europe. I imagine the site will be faster for asian/middle-eastern users as they'll have less hops. ping shows me 170ms trip as opposed to 90ms on the last box.

I hate saying this but..... site is really slow, no timeouts, just slow to load.. can take 30 secs to load some posts/menus.

I think hotmail bounce mails on dns changes. BadBugs wrote: | I hate saying this but..... site is really slow, no timeouts, just slow to load.. can take 30 secs to load some posts/menus. |
Aren't you on the same isp as me? I get more hops, and a slower response on initial page requests but the server processes everything speedily once the connection is established. Try, from the command line: ipconfig /flushdns That will get the new dns config. You should have the same performance as me, save for local loop.

DNS seems to have propagated down to my isp so I no longer need host file entries to get here.
How are things on the mail front, i don't have any need for mail notifications so don't have them on? is anyone getting mail? hotmail still playing funny buggers?

Regards, |
I 'hacked' my own frontpage and got a hack attempt notification, are we back in business?

Okay, i'm getting reply notifications in my gmail, yahoo, isp and premium mail boxes... i am not, however getting them in hotmail which means they are once again censoring.
Please if you have hotmail account, and for whatever sick and twisted reason you actually want to use that one, can you open a support ticket saying you are no longer receiving mails from @dead-donkey.com and you require these.
If you are asked to provide additional information, state the site has moved hosts and changed DNS on the 15th and that is when hotmail started dropping mails. State that the problems with hotmail are global, and all other free services (gmail, yahoo, isps, etc.) work with absolutely no problems.
In the meantime, msn, hotmail and live are now banned.
