Newzbin, considered by many to be the internet’s premier indexer and .nzb provider, is under legal threat from the MPAA. Newzbin is one of the original Usenet indexing sites and creators of the .NZB format. In a very general way, .NZB files might be considered Usenet’s equivalent of .torrent files.

RIAA have filed a lawsuit against Usenet.com.The suit claims that the usenet.com service sells access to content that includes millions of unauthorized music files and "touts its service as a haven for those seeking pirated content."

NOW they are coming to get you, Newzbin users. Your not safe in your little cave anymore :suicide:

futile, wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last. The MPAA/RIAA are rapidly losing any sway they have, conservative bodies like these are doomed to failure.

I doubt they can...

There are far too many usenet providers.. suing usenet.com is near to doing nothing.

They should, of course, bring down that shit called useneXt.... that one IS crap.

Trying to bring down usenet is like trying to bring down the internet itself, as usenet has been around since arpanet days (or something like that)

usenet is the #1 of decentralized internet services @ full speed always.

Site is still up, unaffected... can't seem to find anything different to the other futile cease and desist letters they've attempted to push out against nzbs in the past. They can't do anything, they know they can't do anything...
usenet is indeed nuclear bomb proof, self-replicating and very stable; a precursor to www. The mpaa just aren't a viable force, they aren't even a legitimate organisation in a lot of people's views.

Gnatt in the wind. :moon:
