Never use that feature because of security issues - call me paranoid.

Is it possible you're still connecting via the IPs/with hosts file entries?

I had the same problem during that time, but it's gone now the DNS is back up. :)

what's automatic inlog?
hock on the automatic?

Do you mean automatic login? The issue will be a) you are using an ip, don't, i'm going to kick people off those ips shortly b) you probably just need to delete your cache and restart your browser.

Browsers are a pain in the ass for screwing themselves up, but cleaning them out is usually the solution. In firefox, go to tools>Clear Private Data and check cache and cookies.

Its a local issue, hence why most people don't have it. you were likely using the ip url which I didn't want people doing; the hosts file solution was the better option.

I'm not using the IP anylonger. I'm going to try the cache clearing.

yeah, basically when we (or anyone) makes a server side change its best to clear out the cache. The problem with this site is the cookie-expiration time is quite high and we've jumped servers.

Whenever you have login problems on any site all of a sudden, clear out your cookies... it usually fixes it :)

are you blocking cookies? are you using a firewall? anti-virus, etc... Have you been messing around with your system clock (although the date time is server side iirc, and that's displaying the times fine and dandy)? Have you got any software that maybe blocking cookies?
are you talking about the forums or the frontpage?

I just logged in about 8 or 9 times, and closed down my browser each time. when i load it back up i'm logged in still so i don't think its an issue with cookies being served.

Have you tried another browser?

Forget it. I don't care, because Firefox fills in the infos automatically and all I need to do is to press a button... :)

i do, as it means there's a fault somewhere, can you please try another browser as a favour? I really do need to know if there's a problem with the site.

Its very hard to fix anything without some user involvement because I never see half of these bugs myself.

I tried it with Opera and automatic login works without problems. It must be something with Firefox. Which is strange, because I cleared all private data except the saved passwords. I don't want to clear the passwords. :)

its nothing to do with passwords, did you restart after clearing? You weren't on this site when you cleared them out were you?

No I was not on the site. I did the following steps in both browsers:

1.) Clear all private data (except passwords)
2.) Close browser
3.) Open up browser and goto forum.dead-donkey.com
4.) Login while checking the Auto-Login checkbox
5.) Close browser
6.) Open up browser and goto forum.dead-donkey.com

In Opera I'm still logged in fine, but with Firefox I again need to login every time I open up the browser. :?

I completely forgot, on the main index page in the bottom left:
ucp.php?mode=delete_cookies
There's an option to delete all board cookies. Try that too.

very strange, especially if you don't have a firewall or av scanner... the fact it works in opera definitely points to something local, but if clearing it out doesn't fix it I'm at a loss.
