I really enjoyed it. Definitely a drama more than a horror, but quite good. More real than something like Donnie Darko. The authenticity of the characters and situations worked really well to ground this vampire story.
You may wish to delete the plot outline from the first post, since it is basically a synopsis and gives away then end of the movie.

I don't download 2 cd rips for current releases. Rar'd releases on BT is already pushing it for me. Is there a good reason why there needs to be a split?

I agree. Who exactly is this "scene" anyway? And why should they even be taken seriously other than for the fact that they give us stuff which isn't even that big of a reason anymore. Unless they are a gang of wild tranny rapists who bungbore anyone who breaks their "rules", I say, mmm meh....

No, there is no good reason. It's just a rule by the scene and members of the scene, like Vomit, follow these rules. Who are the scene? TDX2k9 was signed by these groups, so I guess they are the scene:

expect CD sized rips from any of them. 1.45 = 1/3 DVD is just less stupid than 2 CDs, but it makes more sense to encode at a fixed PQ (perceived quality), preferably set for transparency, and not at a fixed filesize. Back to this particular release. The encodes posted on the first post are wrong choices, one is hardsubbed, the other one is dubbed. That's much worse than 2CDs!
