Joe D'Amato Totally Uncut (1999)
Directed by: Roger A. Fratter

Image

Plot Outline: This film features an extensive interview with Italian movie maker, the late Aristide Massacessi, better known as Joe D'Amato. Through interview clips, and clips from his catalogue of over 100 films, "Joe D'Amato Totally Uncut" traces the director's journey from title designer, to director of photography, and finally to director of some of Italian cinema's most notorious films. D'Amato discusses his feelings about his life, his work, his relationships with such stars as Laura Gemser, and his distaste for hardcore adult cinema.

I did some research on this, and I can't find anything on the difference between the two parts. They aren't even mentioned as separate parts, apart from 1 picture on wikipedia which states that it comes from TU2: The Horror Part. As I read that part 1 is called Totally Uncut 1: the Erotic Experience, the full title of part 2 should be Totally Uncut 2: The Horror Part.

Everywhere the runtime is stated as being 101 minutes. Whereas the runtime of part 1 is wrong because of no IVTC (and thus 29,976 fps), the runtime of part 2 is correct. The two together should be 168 mins long, with 23,976 fps throughout parts 1 and 2.

There are several scenes which are included in both parts, but I can assure everyone they're not the same documentaries. It's a shame that only part 1 gets so much attention on the internet, as part 2 is equally, maybe ebven more interesting.

I released part 1 a while ago....It wasn't a release of it's own right it was an extra with Images of a Convent

Not sure on the release status of the file but it certainly is cropped appropriately.

If you could just post some screens and specs, I'd be very willing to add it to the main post. It looks like your version is better.

The 'Images in a Convent' extra is much shorter than the shitty rip with hardcoded subs. 40 minutes shorter or so! And it's not the stuff used in the 'Anthropophagus' extra.

The shitty rip with hardcoded subs is 29.976 fps, so it is too long, but you're right, the Images in a Convent extra is too short: it is 65 minutes where it should be around 100 mins. There's a difference between the two of 100,000 frames!!

That it's not the stuff used in the Anthropophagus extra is logical: the IiaC extra is part 1 whereas the tA extra is part 2.

edit: added specs to first post, screens are to follow.

Actually IVTC has no effect on running time from 29.970 to 23.976 -> the redundant frames are removed, but running time stays the same, you just have less frames in the same number of seconds. Only when you switch between NTSC (23.976) <=> PAL (25.000) the running time changes, because you accelerate (or decelerate) the number of frames per second.

I too have been researching and it seems that they are separate parts. Joe D'Amato Totally Uncut belongs to the extras in the American edition of Antropopagus and Joe D'Amato Totally Uncut 2 on the extras, and the commentary Images of a convent. But I have encountered this cover in VHS which apparently belongs to an exclusive edition for the doc. named Joe D'amato The Horror Experience.

Moving on to Disc 2 is a lengthy Italian-made documentary called JOE D'AMATO: TOTALLY UNCUT 2, and this is an extension of the first part, which appears on Media Blasters’ release of IMAGES IN A CONVENT. It features in-depth interview footage with D’Amato shortly before his untimely death in 1999.

I have watched all three documentaries which bear this name:

1) Images.of.a.Convent.1979.DvDRiP.XViD.=STR=(DvD.Extra-Joe.D'amato-Uncut).avi
2) ed2k: Totally.Uncut.Two.a.Joe.D'Amato.documentary.1999.DVDrip.Xvid-Slayer.avi  [743.96 Mb] [Stats]
3) Joe D'Amato Totally Uncut (Ajita Wilson - Brigitte Petronio - Dirce Funari - Karin Schubert - Marina Hedman - Paola Senatore).avi

If you want to watch only one, and you want the most complete, watch nr 2. If you want the most complete report, watch 1 and 2. The one under 3 is just repeating stuff already seen in 1 and mostly 2, and 3 is by far the worst quality of them all.

I only mention this to provide more information, nothing more. In addition to providing this unknown cover art.

Yes, and I thank you for that :)

I was doing the same: only providing more info on the subject. The nr 3 is a really messy rip and it's quite old. It has hardcoded subs which run from right ot left on the bottom of the screen, it is annoying to watch. The other two rips are not only better in quality, they also provide more coverage of the subject together than the nr 3 alone.
