Posting the latest Leprechaun took around 10 seconds. What I noticed is that the preview is way faster. Does that help you?

preview should be instant, its writing to the database that seems to be the problem. I've removed all mysql optimisations so its on 'defaults', i might try upgrading mysql if we still have problems.

I don't understand why updating seems to be instant though, it makes me think maybe something is messed up inserting to to one of tables when a new topic is created. I tried to run a check, but i need to take the site offline to run mysql optimise/check because it locks the table and its got 100s of mb of data.

edit: oh yes, maybe one of you guys that has a problem with slow topic posts post the topic over at scifi.dead-donkey.com too. it runs off the same database but its got a different set of phpbb mods so it would be interesting to see if it has the same problems.

Less text at fileheaven took 29 seconds to post, here it took 6 seconds :?

There's got to be some qualify we can attach to find out what is going on, I wonder if there's some variable that's causing the problem?

No, but the only difference is a user_id column having a different number in it... if it happens to one it should happen to all. :?

I've been looking at the db, but maybe its apache and/or php in the end.

Maybe i should try taking the centos version.
