SUCCESS ! :D

I've been able to use GK correctly now, well, it seems like it's working. I've made some test, and I think I got it. Looks like it's deinterlaced, and the fps are at 23.97. The only thing is, it's a .avi (XviD), not a .mkv, cause I couldn't do a .mkv in GK, it gave me an error, so it was impossible to make one. Anyway, the .avi look really good ! I've choosed the 1/3 DVD setting, to get the most of it. Here's the spec, and if it's alright with you, i'll do the other four disc...

GordianKnot should not be used to create x264/mkv encodes.

Is the DVD anamorph? I would really prefer an mkv.

Your XviD encode has packed bitstream, which is not supported by some stand alone shit players.

Why is there an option for that in the main window then...?

How could I know that exactly ? It's widescreen, that's all I know, and don't forget it's not official buddy, it's a workprint and I bought that from someone. That guy probably converted his video file on a DVD-R, so... How can I find the Aspect Ratio of a widescreen DVD ? Tell me how, which software can tell me if it's 1.66, 1.78, 1.85, Anamorphic...

If I can't use GK for making a .mkv rip from my .vob files, tell me which software to use and how...

What's the problem again here ? I installed GK and GK Codec Pack man, that's it ! I choose 'AVI' and 'XviD' in the main GK window, what's the problem ? How can I change that, if possible ?

Btw, who care if it's not supported by some stand alone player ? Do you think .mkv are supported ??? not at all !!! :D I don't know a single DVD Player who supporte .mkv man, not even the Sony PS3 ! So I really think my XviD .avi is perfect seriously...

EDIT : I've try my .avi in my Pioneer DV-400V, Yamaha DVD S550 and Sony PlayStation 3 NTSC, it work. So I think it should be ok seriously.

Don't forget that the source is a workprint btw, it's not a real DVD or Blu-Ray, so why use mkv to make a perfect looking video when it can't be looking better than the source...

If you ripped this with GordianKnot, you should know whether it is anamorphic or not. That is one important thing you must decide in the resolution tab of GK.

Packed bitstream is an XviD option. You can disable that in the XviD settings.

I myself also don't know a single DVD player that supports H.264. It's the codec used for BluRays. We shouldn't be surprised about that.

You have the disc. You decide how you rip it.

It is already set at NTSC anamorphic (16:9), so it's good buddy.

Ok, i've found that 'Packed bitstream' option, so you think it will be better to disable it ? Is the quality will be good ?

Packed bitstream does not affect quality, only the order of the frames.

Where can i get this from? My brother is Halloween fanatic! but I don't think hes got this one. I'm thinking this will be the perfect christmas present.

Well, first of all, there is no official release from any studio for the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6.

The only way to get it, it's to buy a bootleg DVD-R. Personally, I bought my copy (from which came those rip) on a auction-style site like eBay. If you search the web, you'll find it. Anyway, i'll just tell you, I found it on www.ioffer.com, search for "halloween 6 5-disc producer's cut":

Hope that help!
