Thanks! Well, you all agree Fright Night should be in, so that's settled. The others, well, I'm still contemplating. More opinions? More extra tips, like RV gave me?

EHh, thats tough. How about (dunno if they're mentioned before or if you already showed them once):
Aliens Gone Wild (2008) - ~85 min. The Cars that Ate Paris (1974) ~83 min. DellaMorte (Cemetary Man) (1994) ~ 99 min. the Dentist (1996) ~ 92 min. Evil Aliens (2005) ~90min. ...

Aliens Gone Wild (2008) - don't know about this one, I'm gonna DL it first The Cars that Ate Paris (1974) - don't have it, but I can buy this one, for sale on almost every corner. DellaMorte (Cemetary Man) (1994) - not available with Dutch subs. I have the German Red Edition. the Dentist (1996) ~ 92 min. - good one, I'll put it on the list of options. Evil Aliens (2005) ~90min.- not available with Dutch subs. I have the UK disc.

The Cars that Ate Paris isn't a horror movie, although it was promoted as such because of the title (and also retitled 'The Cars that Are People').

Having just finished breakfast, I'm recuperating from last night It was great again. The kids really start to recognise the horrornight. Beforehand they were asking me about it and there were a lot more viewers at my location this time. When I showed Aliens it wasn't quite so crowded yet, but the audience grew overnight: Aliens - 15 Poltergeist - 30 Fright Night - 35 Christine - 40 The Shining - 60 (!!) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 60 (!!) These are rough estimations, because I couldn't get up from my seat to really count them, but sixty kids in a classroom watching the same horrormovie really is an experience to remember. Some kids were even asking if I could show my movies in the main location (the auditorium), which has a lot more capacity than a normal classroom. Several kids told me this line-up was better than last year's, and I heard a lot of positive coments on Christine and The Shining. During Fright Night there were a few girls sitting ront row, getting scared regularly. When near the end of the movie a speaker of my installation fell down on the floor, they jumped, which was funny. I'll post pictures as soon as they are available, although I think there aren't many, as I only saw a photogrpaher once (and that was during Aliens). edit: here it is. It is the only pic I could find, but maybe more will be posted later, I'm not sure.

Nice job. I would like to see a picture with those 60 kids in one room. How long does this Filmnacht take? When was the last movie over?

It starts at 20:00 and finishes at 08:00 the next morning, so it lasts for 12 hours. And I'd like to see a picture with the crowded room too, but I'm afraid there are none: the pictures of 3 photographers are already online and I don't see any more of my location.

I would probably watch two of the movies movies and fall asleep during the third. Looks like they were distracted by your movies from doing photographs.

Usually many kids are asleep during movies nr 5 and 6 but there are also many kids who manage to stay awake all night. Maybe next year we're gonna show 7 movies instead of 6, as showing only six movies means you have to show a really long one.

It is time for the horrornoght at school again. It will be 14th of January iirc.
Right now it looks like I can pick only a few, because of the scheduled times. I post the running time I need and then the title(s) I can show for that running time. Of course, suggestions are welcome!
135: Rosemary's Baby 105: The Frighteners/Lord of Illusions/The Changeling 086: Zombie Holocaust/Demons 1/Slugs/April Fool's Day/Cronos/The Beyond 145: Le Pact des Loupes 120: Two Evil Eyes 110: Vampires/Ginger Snaps/Shocker
Which one would you pick from the titles which have the same running time? Which other films could you suggest for these running times?
What I want in this "show" is older horror movies, classics, to show the kids a good film doesn't need any cgi, for instance. If you want to see what has been shown in the previous years, check out this thread's previous pages.

Nice. Given that it is winter, you could try to add some horror movies that have snow. Here are my suggestions.(?) = Haven't seen this movie yet Slayer wrote: | 135: Rosemary's Baby 105: The Frighteners/Lord of Illusions/The Changeling 086: Zombie Holocaust(?)/Demons 1/Slugs(?)/April Fool's Day(?)/Cronos(?)/The Beyond(?) 145: Le Pact des Loupes 120: Two Evil Eyes 110: Vampires/Ginger Snaps/Shocker(?) OR The Thing(has snow) |
The running times are a pitty. Most movies I would suggest have a running time between 90 and 100.

Thanks! The horrornight is every year in winter, so I can put in snow-horrors every year if I want to Ginger Snaps is nice, but it will be the second werewolf movie of the evening, so I think I'm going for Vampires (this also fulfills my Carpenter need), but I'm not sure yet. I had the Thing shown in the first event, so I want to keep that on hold for a while. elchupacabra wrote: | The running times are a pitty. I know, this is my annual problem with this event I'm gonna talk to the kids about it, I want the number of movies changed to 7, so I can put in more 90 mins movies. But thanks again!

I've got some questions, I hope someone can answer them:
Which movie is more suitable for a night like this (remember, there are 14-year old kids present, so I want movies which don't have too many extreme things): Zombie Holocaust or The Beyond?
What about The Amityville Horror instead of Two Evil Eyes? Better or worse?
Are Rosemary's Baby and The Changeling too much alike, or is it OK to show these movies one after the other?

You have a point there. I however didn't like Vampires that much. Slayer wrote: | I've got some questions, I hope someone can answer them:

I haven't seen Two Evil Eyes. Amityville is quite slow and was almost boring for me. Slayer wrote: | Are Rosemary's Baby and The Changeling too much alike, or is it OK to show these movies one after the other? |
I haven't seen Rosemary's baby yet.

Haven't watched either of them for a few years, but they're both gore movies. Depends how much splatter you want to show I guess. I think Zombie Holocaust is the more fun of the 2. Quote: | What about The Amityville Horror instead of Two Evil Eyes? Better or worse? |
If it's the original Amityville, then yes. I didn't rate Two Evil Eyes much. Quote: | Are Rosemary's Baby and The Changeling too much alike, or is it OK to show these movies one after the other? |
They aren't alike and will be alright to show back-to-back. I'd suggest some alternatives, but all the ones I can think of at the minute are no-no's because of the running time restrictions
