Just thinking, why do potential fakes and other possible dvd-rip deserve to be in the same section as low quality/vhs rips and what not. Dunno if there are enogh posts in the section to justify two sections though.

What do you guys think?

I vote for a new section. LOW-Q / VHS section just doesn't feel (to me) that it's working properly.
My suggestion:
DVD-Rip section
Verified - Quality DVDRip Xvid or DivX
DVD-Screeners & Unverifed Releases
XviD or DivX formats
VHS-Rips & LOW-Q section
All low quality releases (Cam, Telesync, TV Capture, etc.) VCD screeners also go in this section.
VCD / SVCD / xVCD & DVD-R
Quality VCD rips only please. Namely from a DVD source. If it's a screener cram it in the above section instead. Post DVD-R releases in here also.

Hmm... I think that would be a pretty "clean" and easy way to sort em :)
Posting DVD-R's in VCD section, cos somehow I just would like them to be there. Not a very good explanation, but kinda like that in DVDRip section only quality Xvid and DivX releases. Maybe there's one day enough DVD-R releases to justify them a own section. Until then, in my opinon, cram them in (S)VCD section. VCD section isn't used that much now either.. and probably never will be. :)

I like it... i like it alot.

But I'm not sure if the vhs-rips and low-q needs all cams and crap. I like to hope eventually the VHS section will get filled up with rare horror movies rather than mediocre blockbuster crap (I have a personal dislike for cams and TS). Still I like the structure

Don't like DVD-r and VCD in the same. VCD I dislike strongly as a format. Pointless and now redundant with the rise of DVD-r burners and divx players/xbox/ps2. I replied similar when someone suggested merging DVD-r with SVCD over at FH, but it turned out the only people that liked the idea was those who didn't have a dvdr burner and they just wanted to get rid of two pointless sections into one . I like the dvd-r format, it's the next step up, good quality but huge filesize. It's an option though, but I'm not really in favour of it.

Like the idea of dvd-screeners and unverified in the same section though. Somehow DVD-screeners shouldn't be in the DVD-rip section... good quality but often hindered by B&W scenes, poor authoring or messages.

Just a suggestion...

I like this idea. I mean, the one with separate lq and unverified section.

The other one I think is not necessary, ppl are confused anyway by the huge number of sections on this board. :P But we could as well have something like movie maniacs inn on FH, I'm not against it, I just don't see the need. Ppl will start threads on movies in the general section anyway.

I don't see a reason why distinguish between a DVD-rip and a VHS-rip. I have seen very good VHS-rips and horrible DVD-rips. So I don't care too much what the original source of a rip was. I'd say LQ-rips, HQ-rips for divX is enough. Additionally a section for SVCD. Theoretically these could the seperated in LQ/HQ too, but this might be over design. A section for unverified films would be nice. But perhaps with a time limit. If a film is for a month or two in this section and still noone can verify it, it probably isn't worth keeping anyways. Or it is dead.

problem with that is that sometimes vhs rips are spread of films that are out on dvd, so i think vhs should be seperate.

I dunno will have to have a long hard wank...er think about it.

Yeah, I dislike them too.. but how many; cam, telesync, TV Capture 's we have had this far? Not many. I think they can be counted with one hand :)

 My thoughts exactly. Don't have dvdr burner yet... and rarely download (s)vcd's. But would like to see DVD-R's posted in this section rather than in DVDRips. Eventually there's going to be a own section for dvdr's anyway.

Yeah, thats what I thought with that one. I hope you decide to divide the sections this way =)

Kinda like the 'Movie Maniacs Inn' section in FH ? Yeah, I like the idea. Give my vote for it.

In my humble opinion DVD-screeners should go with DVD rips - these ARE DVD rips after all. But I like it as it is too.

90% are shit, ie. poorly mastered, badly cropped, b&w scenes, and huge screener messages.
