thanks for this movie :beerchug:

iam also interested by the new dvd rip but:

Quote:
Sadly, this film has been given a rather weak transfer. The non-anamorphic widescreen image looks like it came from a dupe-y video source. As a result, overall image detail is soft and colors bleed (faces moving into shadow become maroon blurs). It is watchable? but just barely so.

Also, this is not the fully uncut print it was rumored to be ? a sequence where Jones has his minions torture a trio of preteen boys is missing footage of an electro-shock torture, complete with a jump in the musical score.

from dvd maniacs

plus

Quote:
Released in the U.S. as GUYANA: CULT OF THE DAMNED and re-edited down to 90 minutes by Universal (who also opted to add voiceover narration by a ?survivor?), the film was previously available on VHS on the VCII label, an offshoot of porn company VCX, but it was very hard to locate a copy. VCI Entertainment?s DVD presents what you would label the director?s cut of the film, clocking in at 115 minutes. The transfer is acceptable for a budget release. Although fans of this title who never saw a decent, uncut version of it will most likely be very pleased, quality nuts will nitpick at a rather soft-looking image with barely stable colors which often bleed. There is a scattered amount of print damage, and although the audio often suffers from background noise, it?s passable overall. The film is presented in a suitable 1.78:1 ratio, but without anamorphic enhancement.

from dvd drive in

is the vhs print uncut ?
it seems but as i dont know...

anyone with the other movie :"Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones"
it looks very good too:
Quote:
"The dialogue used in the mass suicide/murder scene near the end of the film was taken almost word-for-word from an audiocassette found in a portable tape recorder under Jim Jones' chair. The tape recorder had weak batteries and was running at a much slower than normal speed, allowing the entire event to be recorded."

from imdb

and i like very much Power Boothe

The Bloodweiser rip clocks in at 1:46:50. It appears the DVD was cut, you'd probably be better off going for the old rip.
