Found this useful info over at ACF.

Quote:
If you sometimes can't finish a torrent when there's no more seeders or the tracker is down. You probably don't want to redownload the whole file again. There one program that can transfer "incompelete" bittorrent-files to emule and you can finish it from ed2k-network.

FTP2Donkey
http://files.overnet.com/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=159

- Install it / Run it
- Turn off BitTorrent and open the imcomplete file on the top screen.
- Find the exactly same file with Edonkey and copy the link as HTML and insert it.
- Choose/make up a number for part-file.. The number must be some number that you don't have in your emule's temporary directory.
- Click Generate

Now you turn off emule and just copy .part ja .part.met files to your emule directory. Then restart it and the file should show up in your emule.

Note that only the full chuncs (9.28MB) are transferred as completed chunks.. So you might have 94% of the file done, but only the full chunks are transferred as completes so Emule shows only 70%.

AS ALWAYS USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.. So far it's been good.

edit: No there isn't any program to do it the other way (ED2K --> BT.)
You can do it manually.. Rename the xxx.part into the proper file name and start downloading it through BT. This program also works on DC++ and FTP-transfers that have been cut or corrupted etc.

Yes Is quite great but most of the files you cant find on Emule thats why ppl use either BT or emule :D so they can find files that are only available on just one P2p network!

It will come in handy sometimes... I hope

You will find most bit torrent files filter over to ed2k-network eventually.
Also more and more people are using bit torrent to release their files with the intention of getting them onto the ed2k-network faster, (a lot of people download with bit torrent then share the file on ed2k-network) so if you missed the full source on bit torrent you are very likely to finish it with emule.

looking at any BT site you can tell they are also uses of edonkey too, kind of shows they go hand in hand... if only you could combine bt's speed with donkeys completes

I've never understood why people say bittorrent is fast :-/ i've opened up the required ports, made everything nice and cozy for that client, but no luck.. just about the same speed as eMule, and I prefer eMule for stability. I've also tried the same on my dad's computer but BTorrent doesn't run any faster there either..

I wonder what I'm doing wrong. (I've read through the manual, and some guides too, but nothing that could give me a hint as to the reason for this..)

But I don't really care though.. have all the time in the world basically, so why not use the Mule? Good ol' Mule :beerchug:

I get episodes normally upto in excess of 150kb/s. Simpsons takes like 30mins if that to download.

You are most certainly doing something wrong.

btw - no need to stop emule for adding the partfiles.

They can be imported any time. Click Tools - Import Partfiles ;)

I couldn't use this program. When I import my incomplete torrent downloads (Alex Chandon Movies), my edonkey see them at %100 and don't do anything.

I had the same problem with a few converted part files showing 100% same as you. So I used edonkey0.51.2 (just my version, dont know if it makes any difference.) OK I put the made up part files in edonkey temp folder started edonkey and it immediately goes through the completing file process at 100%. After the completing process I have had some files then get knocked back 10 - 20% and resume the download as it is meant to do and some files show as corrupted but edonkey makes the corrupted movies anyway and when I have watched them they work fine with a few jumps here and there but not all of them, some have played perfect all the way through.

I used pawcio emule GaMeR

How ever read your post above and same thing happened to me :(

I had a torrent of a dvdr (*.vob files) and one of the vobs was at like 99% and I couldn't recover that one in emule but could the rest (they were partially done from 15-75%)

So I think that if the file is near completion emule cannot finish the file off for some reason.
The file hash's matched but it just read 100% for 12 hours, however I was still queued for the file with some clients but nothing ever came.
So I think that this doesn't work on files that have say 8MB or less to complete.

However I did come accross some other tools, but they're NOT in english :(

<a href="http://download.overnet.org/tools/dmFile2Part1.2.zip" target=blank>dmFile2Part1.2.zip</a>
<a href="http://download.overnet.org/tools/dmTorrent2Part2.0.zip" target=blank>dmTorrent2Part2.0.zip</a>

Taken from <a href="http://www.overnet.org/tools/" target=blank>overnet.org</a>

Yeah it worked for me, just not on one of the vobs that was 99.5% finished as a torrent. In eMule it just stayed at 100% but the file was not complete.

Apart from that it converted all the other vobs to part files and Mule is finishing them off now!
