I've been looking for this one for some time, no one seems to be interested in releasing it. If someone has access to this movie, could you please rip it for me?

It is available on dvd in the US:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 75-0610326

i've had some recent audio-sync problems after converting the mpeg1 (i capture with) into avi. Its been happening more frequently to rips now. I'm defraging my capture drive now, so it may fix the problem.
BUT,
If you want an avi file with the audio seperate so you can fix a/v sync yourself, i can do that. Just if you do sync them up somehow, tell me how you did it. I've tried many programs, avi-info, virtual dub, nano-dub, premiere, transcoding the audio... never syncs up correctly. I dont think i lose any frames during capture(it doesnt say there are any lost).

OR
If you want it in vcd (or maybe svcd) i can capture directly in those formats, the files tend to be around 10meg for every 1 minute (audio and video), with no a/v problems. it'd be around 910mb
my recent avi vhs-rips are quite a bit higher quality than my earlier ones, while vcd's come out rather shoddy. either way, i'll probably be able to have it up wednesday(ish).

I actually hate the vcd/svcd format, so I'd prefer an avi, please, but I'm afraid I won't be able to fix the a/v problem... Could you give me some details? Why do you think it's desynced? What programs do you use to create a vhs rip and where do you think the problem with synchronization begins?
You could also try the appropriate section on http://www.filenexus.com. Lots of people visit the place, perhaps someone knows the answer?...

heheh,
I got your name and the name of guy who used to be 'Unique' mixed up. That guy made tons of rips.

I've tried other forums for ideas to fix my various ripping problems, but most of my rip/capture equipment and computer config i built (or broke) myself, so i end up with no responses, unusuable solutions, or just cruel laughter. :( I'll have to figure it out eventually.

I havent ripped vampirella yet, it may prove no problem. I've done more than 1000 vhs-rips(made a list in the vhs-cam section) over the last few years, so i have some practice :)
Seen i had the tape, and saw your post was from a few months ago, so if you hadn't found it yet, i'd try to get it ripped and shared if i could. I had been trying to get a copy of 'the haunting (1963)' for over a year till i finaly got it, and that wait sucked ass. I'd imagine it'd be the same for you with vampirella. Some movies are just hard to find.

hehehe, i'm a bit absent minded, i forgot

'Could you give me some details? Why do you think it's desynced? What programs do you use to create a vhs rip and where do you think the problem with synchronization begins? '

I believe the problem is in the converting of the mpeg1 streams to avi. In some films, the captured file plays fine, but encoding the avi, or even skipping ahead in virtual dub, desyncs the audio to 30+ seconds for a 90 minute film. I capture at 29.9700 and 22500mhz uncompressed PCM audio in ATI tv/capture media center version 7.1.
in the last week, i think 4 of 30 movies have the audio problem.Mostly older 1970's movies, and a 1980's movie 'chopping mall'. Vampirella may not, i havent done it yet, it was just a warning/possibility. Again, if i capture and leave it in Mpeg1 or mpeg 2 it has no problems.

de-sync begins within 1 minute, and gets worse. I've used different frame-rates (Tera-bit's 'avi info' program), doesnt help. It is what i normally use, and its worked fine till now.

Right now, i'm going to try capturing 'chopping mall' again, with seperate audio then (no interleaving) video streams. I have a few more solutions i'm going to try today, like capping some at 25 fps, in case they are PAL tapes. Or a segmented rip. Be less to sync up, and i can see if and where i'm loosing frames.

An avid croquet enthusiast

common misconception. its actually-
Monkey's M*A*S*H, (E)mergency (R)oom.

i'm a group of wisecracking korean war army field doctors, who happen to be monkeys.(M)obile (A)rmy (S)urgical (H)ospital.

Its a lot like the series E.R.,
Except monkeys fling poop.

its still in my shared. I do on occasion switch the priorities of my uploads. I had thought this was well spread, due to the number of gigabytes of it i uploaded. I put it back on 'release' for a while. I think i've left all my releases in my shared.

i kind of hate this movie.

When I finished the download I could see many people lacking just one or two segments, so I thought it would suffice if I'd keep it shared for two weeks... :D I had some problems with my hdd space back then so I burned it onto a CD quickly. I'll put it back in my shared tomorrow.
