            After escaping from an asylum, young medical student
            Hirosuke assumes the identity of a dead man in order
            to solve the mystery of a weird doppelganger whose
            picture he sees in the newspaper. Travelling to faraway
            Panorama Island, he discovers a mad scientist surgically
            remaking normal human beings into misshapen monsters..
            but that is only the beginning. Hirosuke soon learns 
            the horrible truth about the island and his own family's
            shameful past, and finds himself plunged into the depths 
            of incest, murder, and madness.

        It's been an enjoyable ride, but regrettably STR is no more. 
              
       Don't expect any showbiz-style revelations of artistic differences  
       or massive ego clashes, it's simply got to a point where members
       can't devote the time or energy they once could. In recent months
       the twitching corpse has been kept active almost solely by the 
       efforts of DxaKrator, for which we're all truly grateful. You may
       see the last of the backlog trickle through over the coming months,
       but once they're gone, we're gone too.

       So we'd like to bow out and say our collective thankyous to all the
       other rippers and groups making ed2k the single best place for
       sharing, without bringing the petty back-biting and one-upmanship
       that seems to make such a mess of "The Scene". Of course, there'd
       be no point releasing movies without the downloaders, so thanks to
       you all; for downloading, for sharing, for keeping the files alive.
       
       Finally, thanks to Spud, who has not only provided resources and
       advice, but also been the thorn in our side that made us strive for 
       improvement.

i see

all i remember at the time was he was living in hull (as uni had finished for him) and i remember a mate who was at hull uni said there had been some police action in hull involving p2p piracy, and he disappeared, i don't know if it was involving him, or whether it jsut scared him, though a month or 2 before he did say to me that his dad had recieved a letter from BT (his isp at his parents house in hull) to cease downloading copyrighted material. But that's all i know, no proof it was him

true, though i seem to remember seeing his nick around every so often in downloads from here for a few months after, who knows, guess we never will

maybe his parents left him in their hotel room quietly downloading while they went out to get pissed and then misplaced him upon their return, and by that i mean they killed him and dumped the body somewhere in portugal......

spud have you heard the latest "threat" from isps, theres a big thing about them fighting illegal music downloaders in the uk, they all say music downloaders nothing else

the big isps in the uk (bt, aol. virgin media etc) are going to.... and this is horrific..... send a letter to custoemrs saying please stop, and repeat offenders will have their line speeds...... halved OMG......

Some companies (sony mostly) want people who do it to be banned from the internet with their isp.... so ok just go to another one then that doesn't follow those rules of pissing off it's customers.

It will be fun to see just how many people leave any company who start doing that

its bullshit mate, not going to happen. BT and Virgin are already shit isps, the former is incompetant the latter already throttles.

that's what i think too, i mean i know for a fact i get throttled, also virgin (my isp as nothing decent is available in my area) also change the goalposts of how they class peak times, for instance they say it's between 4-10pm you get throttled, for downloading too much over peak times , but what they actually do is peak times... over 24 hours, so if you go over the "unlimited downloads" limit then they throttle you for the remaining month.

Now my line (as with all other 4meg lines) have been upgraded to 10 meg, except because i leave mine downloading i have seen no change except now i actually get my 4meg which i should've got before, instead of the 10 meg i should be getting.

Gotta love their Unlimited Downloads policy haven't you....unlimted, providing you don't go over their limit!

so really your jsut gonna hit your limit so much earlier with the faster speed, its bullshit, i really wish i could get a decent isp here

Although my download speeds are not as high as yours, I am still glad to have a really unlimited download/upload volume.
