From what I can remember from reading in the book "Killing for Culture", a guy with a paper bag on his head presents some supposedly real snuff movie clips, but in fact these are clips from the evisceration scene.

Confessions Of A Blue Movie Star [d.Andrzej Kostenko], a German film production, purported to be a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the porn industry. When the "true-life" case of a starlet who committed suicide is over, the end credits abruptly give way to additional footage and an interview with a snuff film maker. The subject, none too convincing with a paper bag over his head, proceeds to show snippets from his snuff film work - in actuality, clips from Wes Craven's 1972 picture Last House On The Left.

This film was originally titled Snuff. However, it isn't known whether Confessions Of A Blue Movie Star - with the tagged on end sequence - is something of an "updated" version.

you`re kidding yourself on buying the region 2 version. Forget it. There is no uncut version of this film available. the longest version is the MGM american DVD. According to the archivist there is still some violence and sex that the producer refused to put into the MGM version. This includes:

Scene showing the back of Juniors head blown off (his brain is exposed)
Additional chest carving and raping of Mari
Additional stabbing and disembowlling of Phyllis
Scene showing the animal-like woman eating Mari`s pussy out

It's my understanding that an uncut version does not exist anymore. When the reels were sent to theaters, the theater managers would cut it up themselves so that, eventually, no two theaters ended up showing the same version. Craven himself apparently did not hold onto one, so when he decided to release it on DVD, he had to gather up as many as he could and re-cut it together. Some scenes were never recovered, or only the film was and not the sound. It's a shame that no one will ever get to see it as it was meant to be.

I also remember the scene at the beginning where Mari and Phyllis are looking at the leaves in the forest and Mari goes on to tell her friend about how her breasts have recently developed. For some odd reason I remember her taking her shirt off in that scene but that's not how it happened on the MGM DVD version. Oh FIDDLESTICKS!!!!

Actually, it was Wes Craven who said that an uncut copy was never released for home viewing. That includes your copy since the film was cut up before it even got to the theaters. As I said, he didn't hold onto the original reels, even before it was released on video. The DVD version shows some extra footage with no sound. Are you telling me that that footage is on your tape WITH the sound, but for some reason they couldn't do it for the DVD?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it simply isn't possible that you have an uncut version of this movie.

This version has no end credits. The movie ends with the same montage of each character, but no actors' names are printed over the scenes. After the montage, the movie's end theme song continues to play over a blank screen where the final production credits normally appears. Also, the scene showing the killers as they carry the girls down the stairs normally has the credit at the bottom of the screen, "Early next morning". In this version, this credit is missing. Since it is impossible to undo such a thing, this print must be from a time before the movie was completed.
These scenes are added:
* In the scene where Krug tells Weasel to cut Mari with his switchblade, this version goes on to show a close-up of Mari's bloody fingers with the voice-over, "Phyllis, he cut me!". This version goes on to show a wet patch on Phyllis' pants and a shot of the two semi-nude girls holding each other.
* In the scene where Junior pleads, "You're gonna kill someone if you're not careful...", this versions' scene has Junior continue, "...make 'em make it with each other." Sadie agrees, "That's a good idea!" Krug replies, "Make it with each other."
* The chase through the woods is longer. The added scene shows Weasel and Phyllis facing each other on opposite sides of the river. Phyllis gives him the bird and screams, "Screw Creep!" Weasel's angry reaction ends the scene.
* During the carving scene, this version contains additional shots of the sheriff getting out of his police car and walking.
* The dialog between Weasel and Mrs. Collingwood during the fellatio scene is lengthier in this version.

On the commentary track from Wes Craven and Sean S. Cunningham from the MGM DVD, Wes Craven mentions that in the scene right after they've killed the girls, in the pan across the scenic view, the pan was originally longer, leading to a shot of Mari crawling out of the lake and holding on to a tree, still alive. This would explain how she is out of the water when her parents find her body.

The Forced Lesbianism

This isn't available at all in any edition of the movie currently doing the rounds. It involves some footage of Mari and Phyllis forced to perform sexual acts upon each other, under the taunts of Krug and his criminal gang. It was shot, and was possibly fully intact upon it's original release, but is now only hinted at briefly.


Junior's Death

There was originally a more violent end to Junior, with this close-up of the back of his skull, after his bullet-biting suicide. Specially created by the effects crew, this shot isn't used within the film, and hasn't been seen on many editions.


Discovering Mari *

This alternative take is presumed lost now, and depicts the character Mari being found by her parents, while still alive. Before she dies in her mother's arms, Mari manages to give away the identities of her killers. No released or available print of the film has this take, though it was definitely filmed, and exists. It was rumoured to have been included in an early exhibition of the picture in Britain, before it's ban there. It is doubtful that the footage would still have sound.
