That said this is more extreme right wing dictatorships than leftist, although Stalinist Russia had a lot to play in it, I think it was just as much the 'western' governments.

i ve read this book first time back in 1996.
that book had some kind of preview and prologue by the guy who translated it so he said that Orwell named his book 1948
but the publisher was afraid that possible readers could find simmilarities between england 1948 and this book
so they just switched last 2 numbers and gave bad tone to the year od olympic games in my city :mrgreen:

dont know is it true about 1948
but communist revolution and equalities was described better in Animal farm
