Not a single chunk, it has been waiting since our conversation on Phantasm and not a chunk available. Thanks for sharing this.

I'd skip this one since it's cropped from fullscreen :(

Hell, I hate when they do it. But I just want to see it and I don't care that much about cropping, at least this is verified.

The widescreen rip has the correct ratio, it was filmed matted. The 4:3 version just reveals empty space.

If that is so, at least with the one I have you have a choice.. you can either watch it in widescreen or fullscreen :D

yup, its a matting thing. One is widescreen and one is open matte. Normally director's have a AR in mind and that means boom mikes, and cast/crew can appear in the open matte space often, but they don't really intend you to see that anyway. Personally I prefer widescreen, partly because of director's intentions, but in this case cos downloading another version to see the blank space is a waste of bandwidth  Regardless no activity happens will be there in the extra matte.

This film aint great anyway, but i believe the intended ar is 1.81:1

We gave El Mariachi discredit. Although we assumed it was another open matte vs cropped it turns out we've been lied to by the studio. MGM have been lying to all its customers. This wasn't a matted vs open matted, they f*cking cropped the Pan scan and claimed it was a widescreen edition, they are currently being sued.

http://scifi.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic. ... 3&start=20

Unbelivable, I can't believe I gave them credit for something I couldn't conceive anyone being that retarded enough to do. It makes me sick to the stomach, the lying pricks...

Therefore I'm moving this to lower quality.
