I read an interview recently with Joe Dante where he said that he considers "Small Soldiers" to be Gremlins 3 :o :-o

yes, i read that...
like "any plans for gremlins 3?"... "you mean Small soldiers?"

I liked Howling, Gremlins, and Gremlins 2 ( the fact that gremlins 2 was a piss take out of gremlins made it all the better... awesome sequel!), can't remember matanee but I didn't like Small Soldiers one bit :(

He's done that looney tunes movie thats supposed to have the same kind of wacky self mockery and reference that Gremlins 2 had, not seen it though...

BTW, I take it this is the John Wayne version of Gremlins 2?

no it isn't. it's the american theatrical version, which means that instead of the much funnier john wayne scene there's lame hulk hogan shouting around. however, the alternative video sequence is included on the dvd as an easter egg which i of course found, ripped and added to the other extras 8)

I thought the Hulk Hogan was the home video, the John Wayne was the theatrical?

avatar, thanks for ripping the extras for both this and the original Gremlins, I always wanted to see them! The "behind the screams" documentry was the funniest "making of" I've ever seen!
