Yeah would be neat, but you have to have dedication to do that. Its hard enough trying to get reviews for the frontpage. I guess setting up the blogging extension is the first thing to do to see if people have interest in putting up their own reviews and asides.

There's an awful lot of fanzines around.

My friends band, Goratory, had logo'd condoms. They were neat.

Still I think these ideas a little ambitious.

I had to press 1000 thongs with a company logo in the middle at the front.
It was a cristmas present for the employees. Maybe for the ladies?

lol, you mean grabbing the official emule-project plush toy and then decapitating it?

Unfortunately there's a lot of coffee shop places around and they charge a lot for not much.

If there was a way to make a decent quality tv, or branded mouse mats/mugs, then that would be better.

eh, i havent been hanging out on the internet much over the last year or so, but haven't some sites who have p2p links/torrent files been getting into trouble for selling merchandise/making profit from so called encouraging copyright infringment? It wasn't the torrent linking or emule linkings, but the t-shirts and stuff sold on those sites that promoted it. I thought the Pirate bay had there servers confiscated just for that, or for making profit from ads, too.

But, hell, in my country everything is illegal unless you own your own congressman. May be perfectly fine in your peoples countries(for now), but the way laws seem to change monthly, I'd hate to end up in some detention center with spud.
well, maybe not 'hate', but bottom line is, if we're cell mates, I'm the man, you'll be the little woman.....'cause i;m strong and I got mean tattoo's.

Maybe you should make like a 'Spud's House of Horror' spin off site, fanzine dealie. I seen some the people who frequent this forum do some creative stuff. little short films and such. Maybe you should make a Spudsite that has only errr, actuall films/works/whatever created by aspiring art/movie maker types. Sure, a lot of homemade stuff just plain sucks balls (literaly and figuratively) but having a section for that sort of thing would go a ways to telling the copyright gestapo to suck it.

No, it wasn't about selling a tshirt with ShareReactor on it, it was a bit more big time and serious.

making profit

http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?t=4501

Most of the sites in question took in thousands upon thousands of dollars and were ridden with ads. Sharereactor got at least $8000 in donations for a 'new server' just as the spark before it was taken down. Shareconnector was a similar deal. Suprnova was taking in thousands through advertising and donations. Tshirts and shit to simply cover hosting costs/deficit had nothing to do with it, these were the collection of money that put them into the green, they were recieving bulk sums of cash directly through paypal :?
I mean pirate bay recieves money through phone lines, text messages, bank transfers, etc.

That has been at the front of my mind for over a year or so now, unrelated to this site. Like a horror hub, you know. I think running such a thing, obviously strictly non-profit, sounds pretty cool. I mean for short horror flicks and independant flicks, and horror community blogs.... dunno what kind of appeal there is for that.

Anyway, that would be unrelated but sounds like a good portal :wacky:

i was thinking, i cant really think of a single site that has all amateur stuff on emule.(im sure there are porn sites) From regular people who worked hard on thier personal projects, and want the world to actually be able to check them out. Things like P2P are one of the only ways i can think of for someone not bent over a barrel by the entertainment industry or independently wealthy to even get a shot at a large, worldwide audience.
and maybe to strike a blow at all the teen angst pop music horror clearisil films that we should cleanse bloodily from the face of the earth.

you got what, 4000+ members at this forum now? Quite a few with damn near encyclopedic knowledge of horror/fringe movies/books/ musics/games, and could give honest, experienced reviews on
submissions. Something like 'download this flick and you are required to give actuall feedback, and if you really liked it, send the maker money, or buy and order the actual official copy.LIke one of those anti-copy screens they use except more for the common man-

'we'd rather have you as a fan. instead of you as the defendant in a lawsuit. Norman human beings don't sue other people just for watching movies, so if you like it, buy it, we're not faceless corporate shills, most of us wont even blow all the money on cocaine, but it will help us get laid. Help us get laid...wont you?'</i>

brings a tear to my eye.

i thought that chadman guy made short films he put up. maybe he could do one throw on some 'exlusively available at dead donkey' or something.

just an idea.

Take a bit of editing to get it up and running.

@pure, where did you get the tshirts and mugs from or did you make the pictures in paint

I need some where/method of making tvshirts, mouse mats, etc. that doesn't have an astronomical markup. I know at my old uni they printed tv shirts.

The logo up to the left looks nice. What about creating a T-Shirt on Spreadshirt for example? 8) That could be another way you can get "donations".

There is no official T-Shirt, is there? All I can find is this:

http://www.zazzle.com/dead_donkey_t_shi ... 1055547496

and it looks ugly.
