then again, with DVDr its not as applicable. I mean for me, if i rip doesn't need a full 2 cds, I wouldn't mind if it was 700to1Gb, just generally crap rips are over size because its a sign of inexperience and hence, more error prone.

Quality to filesize ratio is what matter to me really.

unfortunately very true, with no community to back it up initially (although with the rise of BT, I hope this situation will improve), no one can give them feedback on their rips, so i guess they don't learn as they might if it was via emule :(

With emule, people claw through forums for rips and can at least seek advice on how to get the best quality, get the correct AR, deinterlace, etc.

Also, nodoby seems to care about the file sizes. There's a real plague of oversized rips. I guess you don't need any guidelines to see that your rip has 850mb.

850mb is totally fucked....

Believe me. It is all a conspiracy of the DVD recorder producing industry ;-)

The most I've done is read the BT sites and decided not to bother.

Dabbled in IRC, but found I was destined to queue for days for whatever I wanted.

Bit of a go on DC++ and same experience as Spud.

Emule's where it's at baby! :D

Long live ed2k & HHAH!

Bit Torrent is AMAZING for newly released movies by a group...

Latest example: Intolerable Cruelty(~700MB) in just over 2.5 hours...

It's also great for the latest tv eps (Sex and the City 300MB took less than an hour). EDonkey has never come close to those constant kinds of speed...

But EDonkey is still the best for anything older/rarer...

ive dabbled in BT, irc, ed2k, kazaa, kazaa lite, I-mesh, audiognome, bearshare, you name it if its p2p ive probably tried it, and in my opinion

BT was tolerable in small doses only used it to get 7days rips as none were on emule at the time but the AR was fooked to buggery and i jsut generally didnt like BT

Irc - i tried irc for about 4 months and in that time all i managed to get after leaving it on 24/7 was a 1cd rip of childs play 3

ed2k - brilliant until i discovered emule and ahvent looked back since

Imesh, bearshare, audiognome, winmx all that other stuff - BOLLOCKS winmx was ok for a few rare files nonexistant on the mule (ive brought a few over to the mule myself) but it takes too long to get files off winmx and if something happens like pc crash or whatever your files fucked,

Kazaa lite - use jsut to get mp3s

conclusion - emule is the future

winmx i used pre-broadband, and when it was open nap. Last I saw of it they had lost that, so i ditched it. DC++ seemed more of the same.

I prefer emule really cos you download stuff and leave it, have a little chat, offer your free bandwidth, find some recommendations, ask if anyone has a film, etc. Most of it is done without touching the mule, cos i know its doing its job, or it will do its job eventually.

Wasn't a fan of trading either, infact I loathe it. Hence all negotiation of it is null and void on emule, and i'll beat you with a breeze block if you post a trade offer on these boards

This is my history with P2P.
I started with kazaa. I imagine most people do. Found little crap clips and TV shows and bad, bad quality cam sMr/TMD releases. Found a few DVDs including Ringu and Visitor Q.
That led me to search for another, better way. Tried WinMX. Tried and tried and tried WinMX. It had some cool looking files. Tried it off and on (leaving it on for a long time, though) for a month and only ever got Kairo. SVCD that was transferred to an avi. WinMX was the worst experience I've had
IRC was next. I had much better luck than you guys. Came into a Japanese movie channel with no idea what to do. Asked aroung a bit and someone (warbird) helped me get set up and even sent me a 2 disc AC3 rip of Ring Virus (could have been a better movie, but I'm not complaining). Then, I got in with JM and got most of their stuff and ripped a few for them. Then, I found GORIE and ripped some stuff for them. That gor me into their dump, which was a sweet deal. I did a trade with Apocalipstick (an early rip and one I'm not terribly proud of) and started talking to him. He had tons of movies (not all ones I wanted by any means), so I asked him where he got them. He told me P2P. I knew for sure it wasn't kazaa, so I asked if he meant WinMX. He said it was eMule.
That got me onto eMule. I haven't looked back, since. I tied ShareReactor and hated it. Way too slow. Got into their links section and found FH. Tried out ACF from there. Spud finally made the font viewable for me, so I came here.
My BT experience it limited. But, like I said in a similar thread on FH, I've got enough of a backlog of movies to watch that speed of download is not an issuie for me.

I try to use BT and now I realized is a piece of S*** my 2of3 dl stuck at 99% and there is no full sources to complete them!
No one at the respective forum seems to care about that either :(
The reliases on BT are short lived!
I better stick with the emule !

I just tried it too and been pretty impressed with the speed on mainstream, new releases. Still need the mule for the older, better quality, and rarer stuff though.

Any lists of pr0n torrents anywhere? ;)

Porn holds no interest for me, you wanna see my wife LOL Altho if you do I will gouge out ya eyes. I tend to prefer the stuff that is sick, not for a turn on, more outta curiosity. You cant beat getting all ya mates round, have a smoke and watch some bird getting all manner of strange instruments inserted LOL

Obviously we only watch for scientific reasons, we are all amateur shrinks and need to know how ppls minds work.
