the comedy stated when a Sun article was posted ... its not intentional I don't think, but you can just picture the numbnuts sat their with his tracksuit bottoms tucked into his socks typing away and you can't keep a straight face

@John, real critical analysis not from the dailies  Try and find a critic now that didn't eat their words later  Plus, It didn't do that well critically I wasn't aware of; it was commerically, but It got a fair slating from a lot of the respectable movie critics I tend to read.

Face it, its cos your that boring guy from Father Ted, "I have an incredibly boring voice..." :) One sniff of humour and its a twelve hour Will and Grace session to reunfunnify yourself...

Shinnanigans! How dare you speak ill of the precious things of the shop!

Yeah, okay monty python... that's just you trying to cover your tracks to find out your a closest Friends fan! :)

Anyways, what did you think of bottom... and more importantly, Red Dwarf btw?

Been waaaaay too many years since I watched Bottom. Remember liking it alot back then, but I also liked Michael Jackson once... :eatthis:

I'm not sure if I've seen the american or brit version of Red Dwarf. Anyway it didn't make me laugh.

Some things which have made me laugh out loud though, are:
Monkey Dust
Super Troopers
Kung Pow
Thumb Wars
Monday
In China They Eat Dogs
Donnie Darko
Where the Buffalo Roams
Eating Raoul
Delikatessen
The Nine Lives of Thomas Katz
Yrrol
Monty Python
Evening With Kevin Smith, An (2002)
Ali G
Braindead
Idiots, The (1998)
Baseketball
Airplane
Top Secret
Dirty Work (1998)
Police Squad (original series)
Howard Stern's Private Parts (1997)
Bio Zombie (1998)
Murder By Death (1976)
UHF (1989)
Van Wilder (2002)
Deuce Bigalow (1999)
Naken (2000)
Half Baked (1998) (seen it many many times, but never sober)
Bad Taste
Sleeper
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (the original Radio show)
Vita ? bella, La (aka Life is Beautiful) (1997)
That fat chick I posted in the 'funny pictures' thread over at 'sci-fi'.

But perhaps the funniest thing I've ever heard, is: ed2k: Dave_Attell_-_Skanks_For_The_Memories_(Entire_Album).mp3  [37.42 Mb] [Stats]

I tend to like the more mean spirited sence of humor. I can't stand 'nice & kind' attempts at humor like 'Everybody loves Raymon' and all that shit.

The only thing I have to face (and I have no idea who 'Father Ted' is) is that me and you generally don't agree on likes and dislikes, which really isn't such a big deal to me anyway... :beerchug:

I clicked this a while back when you mentioned it in another topic.

And had some work to do yesterday and couldn't think what music to put on, so gave this a click.

Laughed my ass off. At some points I was nearly dieing from lack of breath and sides splitting. The guy was hilarious, and like you said more mean spirited. Was gonna PM you and thank ya for recommending

I liked the bit on how terrorist can board planes

@john, if you never laughed at Red Dwarf you prolly watched the American travesty of comedy with the same name. Why the fuck do the yanks have to remake, and very often, fuck up the good stuff?

I gotta say after watching the ring anf the grudge I actually took the time to watch the originals, damn they were good.

Bottom rocked, as did Red Dwarf up to season 6, but 7 and 8 were a bit of a let down. But I could never get into the League of Gentlemen.

oh come on, the League is so brutely funny... its been one of the best shows for years. Series 3 was so well made (if not as sitcom though), but I love that program. I'm only teasing you... Enough people like seinfeld to jusitfy its existance aparantly, but I think its so unfunny its unbelievable. Terrible show..

Looking at your list you've named some great films/programs, a lot of them I rate as funny but nowhere near laugh out loud funny for me. Of course how can you say that about the likes of Police Squad? Its so cool, but I'm surprised you don't like darkplace, just the same kind of humour.

Ali G was okay for a while, I think Bo Selecta! is better than that was though.

Monkey Dust is hilarious, but its nowhere near as good as League, Darkplace or Brasseye imo. :)

Oh I've seen Dave Attell and he is extremely funny, has been on paramount comedy channel standup and he was on Comedy Central presents too I'm pretty sure (well 100% sure, I have it on my hdd :) ). He was one of the people that was funny, a lot of them weren't too hot in the latter program but there was some good laughs :)

For those that can't put a name to the face:
http://www.daveattell.com/

Been watching a lot of Family Guy recently :)

@George, Red Dwarf is everything before 7, generally if you mean them all, you have to state the latter series as inclusive , as its taken you agree with everyone else that they sucked. I think it showed that Rob Grant and Doug Naylour only worked as a team.

No sprinkles. For every sprinkle I find, I shall kill you.

Well, I'd love to stay and chat, but you're a total bitch.

Lois: What's going on?
Stewie: We're playing house.
Lois: The boy is all tied up.
Stewie: Roman Polanski's house.

Not meaning to sound offending, but how on earth can you say Police Squad is the same humor as Darkplace?

Police Squad was all about taking things way too literary, and generally just playing around with words/names and their meaning.
"Let's go out into the chinese garden" (goes into a garden with chinese people standing in pots)

Darkplace was about amateurs pretending to be profecionals, but failing on purpose. Had it not been so obviously intentionally bad, I might have laughed a little, but to me it was all
"Look, we're pretending to be something we're not! Aren't we funny???" The best one was the black boss though, IMO.

I tried looking at the 3 first eps of League(...) twice, thinking there had to be something I'd missed, since you guys were praising it so much, or maybe it was a kind of humor I had to get used to or something.. But I just thought it was slightly boring. Didn't even grin at any of the times when the 'audience' gave huge roars of laughter. I just saw it as "We're pretending to be disgusting and weird. ha-fucking-ha."

About Dave Attell though: I tried buying his 'best of insomniac' dvd's, as well as the Skanks... CD, but they wouldn't ship internationally. I even mailed them, but they just said no. I downloaded the avi's instead, but they were both incomplete, so I just watched what I could through VLC. He's not as funny there though, cause I guess he's not allowed to be as bad-ass mean spirited, as he is on the CD. Even the 'comedy central presents' show was way tuned down compared to the CD.
