You know what is scary? This place is not populated by the usual spotty 14year olds with a huge ego and tiny knob. If anything it is the opposite, we are all old farts, coffin dodgers if you will.

If I lived 35 or 40 years ago, I might get some skin art, but, nowadays, everybody and their grandmother is doing it. More original to wear the skin I'm in.

@Chadman: back then you probable would have been a sailor, gangster, prisoner... or running around naked in the jungle!
I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and progressed through the years (I'm 34)...
You are right about tattoos being a fashion nowadays...but really most people I meet are quite "shocked" when they see my skin-art .

I have noticed with tats that most ppl are getting the generic celtic shit done, or stupid little butterflys.

Me, I got an ALien, yes from the film, but that does not quite look right. It looks good, but it is not quite accurate to the films.

I also got a Taz, my first one 11 years ago, a couple of chinese symbols, a celtic pattern on my leg, my wifes name under it, and my pride and joy, and Bulldog with a cigarette/spliff* in a soldiers helmet carrying the Union Jack with England written under it.

I agree that many ppl have them done as a stupid trend, but WTF, I choose my tats carefully and all of them have a reason for being there, none are regretted. Next I am gonna have the kids names done, but me and the missus between us have 7 kids, so I could be in for a little pain LOL

TBH I woulda had more, but like I said I choose carefully cos they are somewhat permanent LOL Add to that the price has gone thru the roof lately what with all these stupid health and safety rules, I mean comeon, what are the chances of me getting some nasty infection from having a tat done with dirty equipment in a dingy old shed? Pretty low I am sure you can see

*depends how you think of it, it could be either LOL

I thought of having that done years ago, without the spliff and helmet, as well as a Les Paul with a quote from the UK Subs - Born a rocker, die a rocker, written round it. In the end though I decided I don't like pain and chickened out

Hhhm, pain is one of those strange things tho, none of the tats I have had done have been especialy painfull, no more than I could easily handle.

My brother, now he is a diff kettle of fish, he has around 4 inches height and 70 pounds weight over me, a fairly big, tough fella, and he almost cried and he only had 1 small tat on his shoulder LOL

Did my first tatoo almost 7 years ago now and I felt I was dying  Never thought a tatto on the ankle could hurt that much...
Now I'm planning to do a 3rd one, I might do it while I'm in Sweden, to keep a souvenir :wacky: But as u guess, my tattoos have nothing to do with ur ... manly creations ... I'm more of a 'little butterfly' person

Might as well continue with the "who has what tats" theme that this thread has taken:

"BORN TO BE WILD" in a scroll on my chest; Taz bursting out of the skin on my back; a dragon on each of my upper arms; and the chinese symbol for Snake (my birth year - 1965) on top of my foot.

I also have some body piercing - 2 earrings in each ear plus 1 at the top of my left ear; eyebrow; nose; both nipples; and me john thomas. :-o

I've got 3 of those small tribals, one which I drew myself. but that was 7 years ago... I hate it when something you like becomes "inn" and everybody's doing it. Worst of all are these 3 year lasting tattoos, for pussies who don't wanna go all the way. bah.

At 17 I nearly had a pair of those "real" vampire teeth put in. In the end it was the pricetag which stopped me.

All I've done is some minor scarrification years ago. One's still there, but its faded. They were great because you'd have to get close to see them.

I was going to post a pic, but my camera can't pick it up. All it was was two long lines along the back of my hands and down the wrists. It was more about the ritual than the image.

:o  I've changed the topic by showing my ink on here!
(HHAH freaks  )

My (full)backpiece is a scene from the comic "Slaine-the horned god" (Pat Mills & Simon Bisley)...

Guess you could say my tattoos represent my dark subconsious...so no butterflies and flowers for me!
