MAJOR ED2K SERVER ISSUES!

Today I saw donkeyservers 1, 2 an 3 online. Are those for real?

I also read somewhere that if you disconnect off Kad, and make a fresh connect, you lose a lot of sources. Does anyone if this is true or not?

For the little thing I know, those DonkeyServer are probably fake... :twisted:

And they are still block in my filter list (PeerGuardian Block Lists). Just updated my lists, no update this side, so... :roll:

And about the KAD thing... don't know cause i'm off the Mule for the night, but yesterday I had 850+ sources so when I will re-open my Mule later tonight, I will keep you informed how many source I have here. :wink:

Well, i've re-open my Mule after a little break :wink:

and in 10 hours after i've re-open eMule. i've got 781 sources, and 80% of them are green... the rest are yellow, only 5 red dot and some blue !!! So, about that thing of ''don't disconnect off Kad, and make a fresh connect, you lose a lot of sources'', it seems that it's not really true, not for me :mrgreen:

I think I can clear up the nodes.dat issue, Spud can probably correct me if I'm wrong.

The nodes.dat file that comes with emule is likely to be out of date and not connect to anything. However if you connect to a server then it updates the nodes.dat file with live Kad nodes, you can then connect to Kad. If you can connect to Kad it will also update the nodes.dat file without the need to connect to a server.

If you don't run emule for a few weeks and then try to connect to Kad without a server then chances are you can't.

Regular emule uses will be fine. My advice to occasional users is to connect to Kad every few days even if you just connect and then disconnect, just to make sure your file is up to date when you come to need it.

Is there an alternatice ed2k search now that you can't use edonkey itself unless you connect to a server (which I've now deleted)?

@ PC_Arcade : In the search tab there is a drop-down box labelled Method; just select Kad Network from here, at least it works on MorphXT.
