ahh... back in the days when I was reading a fantasy book a day and my favorite hero was Raistlin Majere from the DragonLance series I started using this nick.
RaistlinTheMage = RTM, and 1981 is simply my birthyear.

kinda childish, but I'll never stop using it. Never. Too attached to it. My email is RaistlinMajere1981@hotmail.com :-) heh.

Found this thread while searching for a movie. I really like this kinda threads.

So, to resurrect it in its full honour:

Ages ago, when we started playing games via coax cables on our home LAN, the game Quake required a playername. I went to the options screen, saw the standard name "Player" and decided to change the P into an S, knowing what "to slay" means.

I kept this nick through Halflife, Counterstrike, Battlefield 1942 and all other games that I played on LAN and online. I used it on forums too, so this isn't the first place

Only after a while I started to like the band Slayer, which is one of my favourite metalbands now, but it didn't have anything to do with the birth of my nick.

When joining this site, the first movies to download for me were the video nasties and to my enjoyment I found out there's also a nasty called The Slayer. Which brings it all back together: games, music and movies are quite important in my life.

Please post away with your stories (except when you did already).

This will bore everyone, but since you asked for it...
FMsaziri stands for Funky Monkey Saziri, a character starring in SA.ZI.RI, an old game for the PC98 (old japanese personal computer). I'm a fan of old FM synth jap videogames music and...well you can guess the rest.
Nice one Slayer, this thread deserved to be resurrected.

My nick used to be something totally different in games and forums.
But it wouldn't have fit into the horror section so I chose to pick another one.

But before I did it I was looking for a cool avatar to use for my profile.
I came across this "the descent" movie screencap and thought it was looking pretty cool with all that blood on the person. So I picked that one.
After that I started thinking what nick I could possibly use. I knew a game called "veil of darkness" and because the person of the avatar is covered in red blood, I chose to use "Red Veil" as my nick name (like a metaphor - the blood being the redveil).

Mine is the classic 'It's my dog's name' :P

I've got a husky mix that is sort of the center
of our world. My girlfriend named him after the
Shakespearean character in A Midsummer Night's
Dream. Oberon being the King of the Fae. I think
like most dog owners, we rarely call him by his proper
name. Current popular variants are:

Obie
Chubs
The Roodler

Here's a fuzzy picture of him next a pumpkin I made for
him:

Anyhoo, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Just lately I have been calling myself LordTakyon.

Why you ask? Simple really. One day I was destroying some dead trees with my 024 and I had an epiphany, I am simply better than most other people.

Well might as well add my 2c worth.

Was playing one of the Fallout games, the second one i think, and tried talking to a dog. Possibly Dogmeat, cant really remember. Anyway he said "Arg! Grr!" which i though was piss funny. Took a day or so to get over it. One of the funniest games I've played for sure.

Mataesfola is something like kill and skin (like skin them alive) in portuguese, my native language. Some friends used to call that to the music I hear (metal ofcourse).

elchupacabra = el chupacabra = the chupacabra

Chupacabra is a mystical being from (latin) America. I don't know where and how but I found it a name that is pronounced quite funny and difficult. Another aspect was that probably no one else is using it so I'll do. I use it only related to video. I have several other nicknames for other things.

I think I remember a reference to chupacabra in the X-Files. Isn't
it like 'mexican goat sucker' or something like that? I Dunno... my spainish
no esta bien.
